Majorca AI with proper beds for family of 4.

Hello! Sorry I've seen threads about Majorca recently but my question is quite specific!
We want to visit Majorca next year, family of 4 with 2 boys who will be 10 and 13 (10 year old is autistic). I had been looking at Cala D'Or as a base and have found some lovely hotels but the norm seems to be twin beds in a bedroom and sofabed in the lounge. The children will need the twin beds and we are not keen on sleeping on a sofabed on holiday - my husband is really tall. Has anyone stayed somewhere lovely (doesn't have to be Cala D'Or) which has proper beds for everyone? We still find AI works best as a stress-free holiday, so that's our preference for now. Thank you!

I had this issue recently, so went to tui for advice. She suggested w connecting rooms which I initially refused because of my children's ages. However she said that some hotels can set these up so that the main door in the 2nd room is completely disabled and can't be opened from inside or out. So maybe worth an ask?

The Coma Gran in Sa Coma has 2 bed rooms, we stayed about 15 years ago so couldn't comment on it now but it was very nice at the time. It's so hard to find a 2 bed anywhere.

We have just got back from Cala D'Or, stayed at introtel Cala Azul (part of introtel resort where you can use all facilities). It's not AI though but half board aparthotel. Our standard 1 bed apartment had a super king for us (2 singles pushed together) in bedroom and then 2 singles (as a full mattress couch you make up as beds) in living room, so really a proper bed for everyone. Separate doors to balcony so easy for us to sit out after they were asleep. Cala D'Or was lovely, really recommend it.

Thank you this is really helpful! It seems odd to me that the model is a sofa bed, we've travelled loads and not had this issue before. Will continue my research!

Holiday Village? We have been to Kos and Ibiza and they do family rooms with kids room separated by a partition / sliding door with proper beds. Not sure about the set up in Majorca.

I used to have this problem as we didn't want the DC on sofa beds. A one bedroom apartment is classed as for 4 people so the thing to do is seatch for 6 people. That will flag up two bed apartments.

@BrucesTooth we have decided to book where you stayed as it looks perfect. Would you recommend the H/B or should we do B+B - I'm not great with super busy buffets?! Could you switch dinner for lunch of H/B? Thank you.

I really liked the hb option, we had breakfast at Cala Azul (small restaurant with terrace) and then dinner was at Esmeralda park next door (bigger and busier overall, where the entertainment etc was) compared to other resorts it's really not massive. Not an enormous choice but plenty, was good for our kids to try things they would not order on a menu (squid, duck, octopus etc). When I booked it really didn't add a lot cost wise. I also paid a little for a pool view and to make sure was in the main Cala Azul and not Azul garden. We then either had light lunches on apartment terrace brought from very close by shops (and takeaway pizza) or went out to eat at nearby restaurant or in town. Was great!

Sorry to jump on this tread. Do you book at one place but they allow you to eat at the other hotel?

Just been through the same issue couldn't find anywhere for the dates we needed (we wanted AI with good choices of A La carte) but did find lots of proper bed options in Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Sicily.

It's all part of a sort of bigger resort, all owned by the same company so yes you can eat at those with facilities, use the pools etc. There is Cala Azul (by sea) and Azul garden (set back over the road and no restaurant, just a snack place) then Esmeralda park (on beach) and Esmeralda garden behind. (There is also a 5* Esmeralda beach but that was adults only, and you can't jump from the lower rated to go there, obviously) As we were there in May they didn't have "our" restaurant open for dinner but think it does in high season.
