Theme park with Hotel for 6 year old?

Evening Vipers, hoping you can help with some recommendations for a good theme park with a hotel on site that would be good for a 6 year old. She's adventurous but not a massive thrill seeker. Loves exploring, interactive stuff, animals etc.
Ideally the hotel would also have a pool (but this isn't a deal breaker)
I'm a wheelchair user (ambulatory) so anywhere that has good access systems in place would be preferable.

Thanks in advance!

The Alton towers one is good but expensive

Efteling if you can get there, we've been with FIL who needs a mobility scooter and it was fantastic. DS said it's the best place he's ever been

Chessington.

Chessington or legoland

I am not sure about wheelchair access for places, but Legoland is great for 6 year olds and has a pricey hotel on site. We stayed off site, as the hotel was out of our budget.

The queues for rides can be extremely long, but you may well be able to get special access to rides being a wheelchair user. Paultons park near the New Forest is a great park with plenty for 6 year olds, but no onsite hotel. The other option for that age group is probably Chessington, which I've not been to. We were just at Alton Towers, the 12 year old loved it but the 9 year wasn't a fan. There is Cbeebies land and World of David Walliams for younger kids, but I don't think it's an ideal choice for that age range. Though it does have the aquarium which we didn't visit, as we were alternating who went on the bigger rides with the 12 year old. It does have the waterpark though at the splash landings hotel.

Legoland might fit your bill. We stayed at the Legoland Hotel and my dc loved the separate kids sleeping area and the theming. There was a little treasure hunt in the room to find some Lego in the safe, which was a big hit. It has a pool, Lego play area and some evening entertainment. The food is dire and it's pretty expensive, but the dc absolutely loved it. There are obviously rides, but also the driving school, panning for gold, a splash park etc. Hope you have a great time wherever you choose.

Chessington is also a good call as it has animals too, but we preferred Legoland overall.

Chessington will definitely tick your boxes. Animals, rides suitable for a 6 year old, a soft play to name a few things. The hotel is nice with a view of the safari animals.

Alton Towers CBeebies or the Splash Landings one is based around a pool. I mean an adventure playground type pool, slides and all of that.

I forgot to add that the Chessington hotel has a reasonably sized pool area only available for guests.

Gullivers…there’s about 4 round the country….for up to 12 years ….and cheaper than the big ones….can often get wowcher deals on stays

Another person to recommend Efteling if you can get there. Hands down best theme park we have been too 🙌

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 03/06/2024 20:52

In my preferred order based on your requirements.

Legoland
Chessington
Gullivers World

soundsys · 03/06/2024 20:55

I was also going to say Efteling! There's a hotel and also self-catering Village Bosrijk which has accessible accommodation and a pool. It's really magical - 6 is a great age for it

If you decide on a Merlin Park (Alton Towers, Chessington, Legoland) you can get a ride access pass but bear in mind this needs to be arranged in advance and you need to prebook which day you want to use it, this seem to be booking up 4-6 weeks in advance for weekends depending on the park.

They have brought in a daily cap of the passes to try and stop the ride access queue becoming too long for those that can't wait a long time.
