Hello All,

I'm planning a 3 days trip to France by car and need some recommendations for nice places to visit during August.

Could you suggest some destinations that are easily accessible from the UK and any formalities for British nationals to be aware of?

Many Thanks

If you have kids with you, the northern Belgium beaches just over the border are great and you can also visit Plopsaland/plopsaqua theme/waterpark. Only about half an hour's drive from Dunkirk. But I also second what PPS have said about Bayeux and the Normandy beaches, though probably best to go Newhaven -Dieppe rather than Dover-Calais.

As above says, De Panne / La Panne is a very pleasant seaside town. Lovely beaches and nice seaside bars and restaurants. Not the liveliest place, and I've not been to Plopsaland or Plopsaqua, although I've been thinking of taking my DS there.

Amiens. Fabulous city. Markets. WW1 and 2 graves so loads of history. River and boat trips. Stunning cathedral. Fabulous bakery in centre. Amazing bars. Seriously we loved it. Just under 3 hrs from Calais I think.

Sorry just under 2 hrs. Even easier.

@wineymummy - do you know from where do you buy from, can we buy Crit air sticker on arrival or do we need to buy in advance thru online, we are aiming for travelling by 31st August, swift reply in advance will be appreciated.

On my phone so it's a long link sorry. As long as you've applied it doesn't matter if it doesn't arrive on time if you can prove you're already applied (I think!)

@wineymummy Thanks for your swift reply; I really appreciate it. One last thing— I'm planning to carry the following items: Reflective Jackets, Warning Triangle, Headlight Beam Deflectors, Breathalyzer Kits, Spare Bulbs, a GB or UK Sticker, and a Crit'Air sticker. Am I missing anything else I should bring?😀

I believe the sticker HAS to be UK now and not GB.
Other than that sounds ok. Just leave enough room to stock up on wine before you come home!

But not too much wine! Only 18 litres per adult now, thanks to lovely Brexit...

FYI you do not need a Breathlyzer kit.

The law requiring their carriage lasted about 5 minutes
