Hi, I'm looking at taking my baby abroad and he will be almost 3 months when we go. I'm a little nervous at the thought of taking him so young.
Has anyone travelled abroad with a baby this young and if so what tips do you have? also any advice on what stroller to take would be great.

A lot depends on where you’re going, how long you’re staying, what the temperature will be like, how you plan on feeding and what sort of accommodation you’re staying in.
You will need somewhere you can do washing or be prepared to pack LOTS of nappies (if going for cloth), changes of outfit after explosive nappy/posseting/dribbling situations, endless muslins, and extra adult night clothes due to long nights of feeding with lots of milk and your snacks escaping in the bed! Depends if you have a sickie baby or not. Ds1 was and would bring back his milk after every feed.

Where are you going and how are you getting there? Self-catering or hotel?

We went away a lot around this age. They’re so portable and you can still go out for an evening meal as they’ll sleep in the pram. I found this the best age for travelling.

I am bottle feeding but the apartments were looking at has a kitchenette so able to make bottles and sterilize bottles. I know what you mean about packing lots of nappies clothes etc we will have 1 case just for all this stuff lol

I'd get the microwave steriliser bags.

You can order formula etc from Boots to pick up airside at the airport.

Nappies you should be able to buy more locally though it would be worth researching where.

If you use blackout curtains at home I'd take some blackout shades for the apartment if it doesn't already have them.

Sunshade/one of those sunshade tents for the beach/pool.

See if you can rent stuff locally.

Great age to travel with! Talk advantage of the calm before they get mobile.

Always split between 2 cases in case one goes astray. Essentials like medication in hand luggage plus 2 days worth of milk, nappies, wipes, 2 changes of clothes for baby and 1 for everyone else, I’d also chuck in swimsuits if it’s a beach holiday.

We had the babyzen yoyo with newborn pack, you can take it as a carry on, love it. But it is pricey if you already have a pram. I think you can rent them though?

I went to the Canary Islands with my baby and it was fine. Only packed hand luggage size bags and bought extra nappies there. Took our usual pushchair and they stored it in the hold for us. I recommend Calpol at the airport to minimise chance of ear discomfort and feed during take off and landing if possible!
