Malaga to Porto

Morning!
I’ve tried googling this, but to no avail.
I’m travelling to Mijas in September for just under a week.
A friend is hoping to join me for a couple of nights. She is attending a wedding in Porto around this time, so on my last day, Friday 13th September, go with me to the airport, but fly onto there.
There don’t seem to be any direct flights from Malaga to Porto, and the flights that would tie in with times are quite expensive.
It appears you can fly to Lisbon directly from Malaga for about £70 ish one way, then get a high speed train from Lisbon to Porto (2 hours??)
Is this the most logical route or do any of you lovely FMS have a better suggestion?
Thank you ☺️

I would think it would be as cheap and quick to do Malaga to Lisbon then on to a Lisbon-Porto flight or Malaga to Madrid then Madrid-Porto flight - what time of day?

I can see three connecting options for £75-£80 total

Ryanair fly Malaga to Porto every day, on that Friday you mention the flight is at 2:45pm. I've done the train Lisbon to Porto, was very easy and cheap, people say it doesn't always run to time though.

@TeamGeriatric yes direct Ryanair flight looks good! For some reason I can only find this by going direct to the Ryanair website, not on any other flight search.

Ryanair are often missing from third party search engines so always worth checking directly if they do a particular route. Also that, unlike most UK based budget airlines, they do seem to do quite a few routes within mainland Europe.

It's a bit left of field but I always look at the Wikipedia page for the departure and/or destination airport, it has a section with a table for airlines and destinations. Alphabetical list of airlines and then everywhere they fly to from that airport in alphabetical order. Easiest way to check out options for direct flights, you do then have to go to the airlines own website to see what days/times the flights are, but as a basic starting point it's very helpful!

Thanks everyone! I didn’t know about Ryanair so will check that out. X
