Best mosquito repellents for VERY susceptible skin?

We are heading to Thailand later in the year - I usually get bitten to pieces, even smothered in repellent. Someone recommended the Avon Softer Skin (?) stuff to me and said it is fabulous - does it really work?

Any other recommendations that aren't maybe so DEET heavy...?

Fellow mosquito magnet here! Went to Thailand last year. I think you can still get them or they might have been hanging around in a cupboard. But we took those coils you light and put on in the balcony in the evening. They work a treat.

Mainly following because DEET is horrid stuff

I am a mosi magnet (plus am allergic to the bites 😩) and have always used this:

amzn.eu/d/8BzwmJ5

Including in Vietnam.

It's very effective.

@Panicmode1 Just checking in - have you been yet? We’re off to Costa Rica shortly and also would love to dodge DEET if possible but I get shredded enough in this bloody country! Will be googling picaridin(sp?) and Smidge.

I found that this stuff worked really well for me, and the mozzies love me!

I always found strong doses of vitamin b more effective - they hate the smell

Ah, good luck! Hope you find something kinder that works for you. Thailand is everything it’s cracked up to be!

You can get much better repellent out there. Smells nice and it works. Think it’s call Off and it’s an aerosol (although this was Mexico and Guatemala, assume Costa Rica is the same).

Having said that I usually get eaten alive but I don’t remember being bitten at all in Thailand.

Really the best thing is to wear trousers in the evening and at night. There’s a reason why people who live in hot countries cover up, firstly the sun but also mosquitos!

Mosquitoes love me.
Only DEET works for me.
Fortunately l like the smell of DEET so I don't mind spraying it on.

I agree that Off smells ok.
