Help me pack please!

Going away soon for 10 days to a sunny destination. I somehow always end up overpacking but want to be really efficient this time. But I feel with kids, sand toys, sandals, sun creams etc it adds up and I won’t have the opportunity to wash (staying in Hotels). Sun creams cost €20 and more in our destination and I would rather buy them at Boots in advance.
we also need to take light jackets as we are doing trips to the mountains where it can be windy and colder than on the coast.
any tips or recommendations please? We are staying in an airport Hotel the night before the flight as it’s a 5.30am flight.
2 adults, 2 children (1 non swimmer who needs armbands etc).

luggage allowance:
4 small hand luggage
2 big suitcases (23kg)
1 big hand luggage for overnight clothes, we will drop the suitcases
the night before the flight.
We also have a buggy for the toddler so
can’t easily add another suitcase (as physically cannot carry that much stuff around)

thanks!

I had a similar problem last November, I ended up hurling stuff in a suitcase and I only over packed by one small item.

Wear your heavier stuff on the plane rather than packing.

You don’t need plural ‘sun creams’. Take bottle for the whole family, and if you run out just buy a small extra one over there. Ditto for toothpaste.
If your family uses electric toothbrushes, don’t bother packing them along with chargers. Use non-electric for the holiday.
Also, check what toiletries your hotel provides. It might save you packing shampoo and conditioner.

Bag drop in the clothes you'll travel in (with clean undies) then it's just PJs and toiletries to go in your hand luggage bag.
Travel in your bulkiest clothes - jacket / hoody and trainers / pumps. Then a pair of flipflops / beach shoes each and a pair of sandals for the evenings.
Adults probably only need 3 evening outfits max, or 3 tops and 2 skirts / trousers.
Take handwash liquid so you can rinse things out in the bathroom sink and reduce how many t-shirts etc you need to take.
Wear neutral coloured shorts / skirts than can be worn with a range of different tops.
Share toiletries
Take lightweight / microfibre beach towels if you need to provide your own.

4 people can not use 1 bottle of suncream for 10 days IME. I do burn immediately if I don’t reapply 50 several times a day. Same for one of my children.

I'd definitely take two - one in easy reach at all times. And make sure to pack them in the hold if they are large

Can you do a Boots collection once you're past security for sun lotion and all toiletries? We've done this several times and it gives us back loads of weight in the cases. Just remember to bring a sack back to pop it in as last time we collected it in a box!

You need to look on Amazon for packing cubes! They make such a difference.
