I have a big birthday this year so would like our annual holiday to be a really nice place.

We have v specific needs though.

I have chronic fatigue syndrome so want the drive to be max 3-4 hours.

We live in the midlands south of Birmingham.

I'm a single parent and it will be just me and ds.

Ds is 12 and is autistic (Asperger's).

I need a really comfortable bed.

I want some coast and ideally be close to it.

I want the place we stay to be not isolated but also not a holiday park with noisy folk.

I've toyed with idea of going to Brighton/Hove as I have friends there I'd like to see but don't want to be right in a bustling town ideally. Somewhere round there that's more chilled might be good but open minded to somewhere else.

We stayed previous at Rudge Farm Dorset which was amazing (thanks Mumsnet) but don't want to necessary go there again so soon. Somewhere like that, quality and set up wise would be good.

🙏🏻

Is St Austell in Cornwall too far? I have stayed in Bosinver Farm and would recommend.

North Devon Woolacombe is gorgeous but probably too late for this year, you get a discount for booking early though thinking ahead for next year.

That said Hele bay in Ilfracombe is just down the road from Woolacombe and that's a lovely little beach.

My autistic teen loves it all round there.

Cornwall too far?

What about North Wales. Llandudno? Lovely beaches, pier and there's loads of nice places to visit nearby like Castles and Zoo's.

Hmm, this place looks nice:

Has a communal swimming pool, tennis court etc.

Quite close to Brighton, close to Amberley museum - great transport-themed outdoor museum with a narrow gauge train that goes around the whole site. Arundel Castle aso nearby.

We offer self-contained, single storey accommodation which include everything to make your holiday comfortable & fun. Come and stay with us!

I have an asd DS and we've stayed at these which may not be exactly what you are after but our DS enjoyed them all.

Dartmoor Llamas - have a holiday cottage and can book llama and alpaca walks and farm tour with them https://www.dartmoorllamawalks.co.uk/ It was self catering, think they left scones, jam and cream, do need to drive to get other food or bring with you. Other activities would be a drive away.

Watermouth Castle apartments - swimming pool on site and activities like mini golf. We went in a covid year when closed but there is a park onsite normally but we went back a year where it was on and was still fairly quiet in apartments and could also use the park out of hours when quieter I think. By coast and also lots of trips from Ilfracombe like Lundy or dolphin spotting boat trips. Self catering but is a restaurant within walking distance.

Within Pembrokeshire a 4 bedroom B&B on a farm Penrhiw Farm in Goodwick which is on the coast rated 9.7 on Booking.com we booked directly which was cheaper. Excellent food and my asd child ate it, he used to be a chef and uses ingredients from the farm and was £15 each for dinner for 3 courses, all homemade and a drink including alcoholic ones. Amazing breakfasts as well and between the two enough food for the day. Do need to drive to things apart from farm. We did boat trip to Skomer to see puffins (seasonal).
