Has anyone been there?

Thinking of going this year with teens ages 16 and 18.

We've had some of those storms @oliver123 this week...they are epic and so speedy...it is just like a tap!

To be honest we're happy pottering about to different beaches to go snorkeling and an afternoon trip to the pool, so no excursions planned for us although planning to go on sunset cruise (included in all inclusive package) at end of week

Glad to hear storms/rain is just temporary...we're going at the end of October which (I think) is the tail end of the rainy season.

Just got the app!
Shame it doesn't have a countdown.
We didn't get to go abroad last year so we're (but mainly me) very excited.

I had a swimsuit cull yesterday and I'm trying to get my head around wearing a bikini!

Have you seen any turtles yet Jcee ?

We’ve just got back from 6 nights AI and had a great time. We went with a 12 year old and stayed in a beach villa (109). Intially I was apprehensive as it was on the side of the island that the seaplanes land on but we couldn’t hear a thing.

We took our own snorkelling gear and used it every day. The reef was incredible. We did a day trip on a boat and I’d highly recommend going out on one for the full day. It makes it much cheaper, but also you go to see whale sharks around lunchtime when it is much quieter. Most people do a morning or afternoon trip so it can be quite busy with lots of boats of people trying to jump in the water at once to snorkel with the whale shark. The guide explained it is much quieter at lunch time.

My only disappointment was the Asian wok a la carte restaurant which was weird. It was always fooked up in advance, yet when we managed to get a table on a supposedly full night, there were only 5 tables in use and the food was dreadful.
