Hello, we have a family holiday coming up. 6 adults, 3 children, aged 8, 6 and 1.
Anyone got any good games/activities to do as a family or for the children, especially to do in meal times/in restaurants.
Ive got some activity books and a game called Shut the Box.
Interested to hear what others do, first holiday in a while.

I just bring the more portable games that we've got at home that we can fit in.
Mine's a bit longer now.
But Uno, Ladybird Game, Shopping list,Snap....

Card games like top trumps, snap, diamoniak. Also 'Pass the Pigs', as long as you take care not to lose the pigs. It's very compact. We still take colouring crayons every time we go out to eat, and ours are a couple of years older than your older two respectively. In a couple of years time Exploding kittens and Sushi Go, these are winners in our house, but 6 is probably a bit young for the strategy aspects.

Uno
Ludo (pack the board and the dice/figure separately) but you need a table, so it depends on where you want to play
Top Trumps
Snap
Rummikub if the 6 year old is good with counting, I think there is a junior version.

Colouring in book, crayons, sticker book, activiy book. We even took a workbook for english and maths with us one year, DD loved them, they were set up as a game with characters and a story, but we got strange looks from a table next to us at dinner one evening.

A few small toys/cars
Who knows me best
Drawing
Dobble

Thank you for all the suggestions. I’ve bought the Sussed card game recently. A would you rather game which should also get the adults involved.
Also an origami book which looks fun.
Boys love rumikub, so I’ll look into a travel edition.
@reluctantbrit if I saw that in a restaurant I’d think it was a great idea!
