Tropical but not long haul

Can anyone recommend a sunny beach destination that has a tropical feel but is not a long haul flight away.

Cirali Turkey seems to be a good option?

2 adults and an adventurous 4 year old.

Thanks

Cape Verde definitely has a tropical feel.

We stayed in Boa Vista over Easter and it definitely had that vibe.

Riu Palace has good reviews - we stayed in the Riu Karamboa as adults only.

Agree re the FGM law but do you boycott every country that has a poor human rights record for women and girls?

I do. As do many others.

Some people seem to be blissfully unaware of where the tropical regions are. Hers a photo to help you!

Some people aren't blissfully unaware, but understand the OP isn't asking for a holiday similar to something in that specific band due to geography. She wants something that is what 99% of people visualise when you say the word "tropical.".

My geography is shocking, but I think Nigeria falls in that band. Maybe Namibia, Angola etc too. This is not what OP is trying to recreate. But being pedantic, you could say "oh she is, because it's tropical "

Cape Verde is nice, did you not find the constant wind off putting? You can see by the trees in your pic. My friend said it was like holidaying in a wind tunnel.

Interesting to see the controversy over the tropical comment!

For me I see tropical as lots of lush greenery and not an arid feel.

I've been lucky enough to travel to Costa Rica and the white beaches surrounded by greenery and nature are just heavenly.

I was just curious to see if there were any similar hidden pockets in Europe where you could get the same feel.

Huge built up massive resorts with booming music and packed beaches are not really
our thing.
