Going to Mallorca next week, where should I visit?

I'm going to Mallorca next week with my husband and toddler and we're staying in Port Soller and we've rented a car. Please could you share your recommendations of what we should do, see, eat? Either in Port Soller or anywhere else on the Island.

Never been to Mallorca before, very excited to check things out.

Thanks in advance!

Port de soller is lovely. Definitely the wee train to soller and if you're a foodie (or even fancy a nice ice cream) the Fet a Soller shop is a gem:

As someone has mentioned the driving around Soller can be quite challenging, but both Deia/Valdemossa and Pollensa/Alcudia would be nice for a day trip.
Just beside the Soller tunnel, Alfabia Gardens are very chilled and are probably nice to explore at the moment.

I'm sure you'll fall in love with the island!

Deia and Valldemossa.

This was going to be my exact reply!

I'll add Fornalutz to the list. A lovely village to visit for a lazy lunch.

Thanks for all the tips and answering my questions!

I think we'll give Es Trenc a miss then and either do port pollensa of fornalutz. It would be good to reccy port pollenca as we might stay there if we visit Mallorca again.

Our toddler (20 months old) isn't much a water baby so we're probably not going to be on beaches except for a day. If she turns out to really like the beach we'll just alter our plans but at the moment we're happy to visit little towns and have lunches and things.

There is a lovely walk up to a lighthouse which is steep but good to do - buggy needed or solo walk without 20 month old.

There are enough restaurants to eat at a different one for about 6 months! So every day for 5 days without leaving would give lots of choice. There are lovely restaurants towards the harbour & up on the slope by the harbour as well as at the middle of the bay.

There is a playground towards the harbour & it is all very child friendly.

The tram goes all day, very often between port de soller and soller. You can get on at a few spots in port de soller that goes to soller, then at soller you can get a different train through the mountains to Palma - all can be done in a day or split it up - but a great day trip.

The last stop in Soller is nearest the station for Palma.

In soller there is a lovely square and a Picasso museum.

Have fun, it is a beautiful place.

Sorry to hijack but are there any great water parks (tube slides / wave machines etc) in Mallorca?

Well I haven't been for more than 30 years so you'll certainly need to check for more recent reviews, but this is the big one

We went with DD when she was 2 and 4 but stayed on the other side of the island.

DD loved: the tram/train. We actually hiked from Soller to Port de Soller and took the tram back.

We went to Valldemossa, we loved it but yes, it can be a bit overrun with tourists.

Caves - lovely but it wasn't too far away, we preferred Arta.

We had a lovely time in Palma, DD was fascinated by the cathedral's stained windows. But, we do sightseeing a lot with her and she was used to walk around churches, so it depends on your child.

Palma is lovely and agree the cathedral is spectacular. Just opposite there's a changing of the guard each day at the palace, think it's midday - worth catching if you're in the local area but not worth making a special trip for. Also recommend a light lunch in the top floor restaurant of the Corte Ingles department store, the food is OK but the views are spectacular.
