We are travelling to London tomorrow with our Ds2 aged 5 years. Can anyone confirm if he has free travel on the ungerground? Also if he is free, does he still need a ticket or do we take him through the barrier with one of us?

Yes, he's free. He can go through the barrier with you or through one of the bigger barriers (always to the side or end of the barriers) where they will open the gate for you.

If he's not used to the tube or a sensitive soul, I'd think about avoiding rush hour tbh

Thank you. He's not a sensitive soul particularly, but as it's his first time on the tube I think we will avoid rush hour. I hate being crushed in those carriages,so it must be horrible for little ones!
