Is there a Eurocamp or similar near a town or attractions?

Hi,

We're looking for a eurocamp or similar ideally in France but also considering anywhere else in Europe. In walking distance or bus shuttle to a town or attractions like aquarium not just beach and near an airport.

Does this exist?

Thanks

Vias-Plage. Club Farret or La Carabasse. Very close to Beziers airport. But also Montpellier/Nimes. Bars and restaurants, shops, beach, Luna Park (big fun fair), huge mini-golf. Bike hire to ride along the canal. Buses in to Adge (or not much for a taxi) where there is an aquarium and other stuff. About 20 mins walk into the old town.

Le Grande Metarie in Carnac, Brittany.

Been there 5 times. 5 mins walk to Carnac Town. 10 to beach, 15 to Super U supermarket.

Thanks both. Are these sites big ie what do you do if you're right at the back with little kids. I assume there's only a bus or taxi from the door? Or do they organise excursions?

Duinrell, Holland. Theme park and water park on site. Walk into the town. Cycle to the beach. Bus to Leiden and The Hague. Fly to Amsterdam - bus/train/taxi to the park.

Camping Fabulous near Rome. Bus into Rome.

There's also one near Barecelona. Bus to site from airport.

I’ve stayed in loads of sites and if I understand what you are asking this has never been an issue. You just walk! We did take a buggy for our 4 year old once so he could nap in it.

Duinrell in Holland is near a really nice upmarket town with cafes & restaurants. Beach nearby. Lots to do onsite too.

There's one in Argeles Sur Mer with the town and presumably bus routes right on the doorstep.

But TBF little kids usually just want to stay in the campsite and aren't interested in excursions!!

Thanks. I remember this myself.. being happy with the swimming pool and disco and my parents saying come on let's see the town.

I'd like them to know other countries and towns exist but the oldest is only 5.

Also to ask a silly question maybe (as pre kids our holidays were city breaks) but if you don't go off site why go abroad? Or is it just for the weather?

We did Union Lido near Venice when dd was 2. We never stepped foot off the site. There was so much to do, and great variation for food. Ditto Park Albatros in Tuscany. I totally hear you about seeing places, but it's better when they are older. For small kids, pool, beach, playground, mini disco is all that is needed. Grown ups get to drink wine on a hopefully warm terrace. Once a bit older, the world is your oyster.

Definitely for the weather and the food! I live in Belgium. I love Belgium but I like Italy and the South of France better. 😎

We like going to European campsites because they have more activities than ones in the UK. And generally cheaper for a better standard. And if I’m perfectly honest I like the mix of nationalities. It’s a completely different vibe and nothing really to do with the weather
