Changing from Piccadilly to Victoria line with suitcases - better at Green Park or Kings Cross?

We need to get to Euston from Heathrow and wondered if either Green Park or King’s Cross had a better/shorter transfer from the Piccadilly line to Victoria line? Thank you!

It's a really short walk from Kings Cross to Euston, might be worth doing that to save changing.

I did think of that but we have two massive, heavy suitcases and bulky hand luggage too, I wasn’t sure if the pavements would be as smooth/horizontal as the tube walkways!

Green Park is an old station and hot and chaotic. KX is new and will have more escalators and lifts and things

What time of the day, and what day, would you be doing this?

LittleBearPad · 12/04/2024 09:18

I’d walk from Kings Cross. By the time you’ve changed trains and walked through Kings Cross and Euston you’ll feel like you’ve have done about the same amount of walking.

Crushed23 · 12/04/2024 09:20

Definitely just walk from King’s Cross. It will take as long as navigating the change at either station.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 12/04/2024 09:27

Euston doesn't have lifts from the underground so you'd be wrestling your luggage up escalators or, worst case scenario, loads of stairs - when we were there a couple of months ago the only underground access was via a spiral staircase. Like PPs said I'd definitely walk from King's Cross. It's a nice walk with lots to look at as well as short.

It's a long walk at Green Park, but there are lifts. Not sure about KX.

There is a bit of a hack to changing at Green Park but I would definitely walk from Kings Cross.

Don’t walk the Green (Park) Mile
The ‘corridor of doom’ at Green Park - the seemingly never-ending interchange that connects the Victoria Line to the Piccadilly Line - can be avoided by going up the exit escalator to the ticket hall and then taking the route back down the next escalator to your desired line. Not only will it shave time off your journey, but you also won't get stuck in the human traffic jam at peak travel times.

We visit the Lake District quite frequently and we come in at King’s Cross by train and walk to Euston. We’ve managed this with a 4 year old and 2 reasonably sized suitcases plus rucksacks, handbag and small shopper with food and snacks in.

It’s a lot quicker now he’s a teenager and we each have a 55cm suitcase and rucksacks etc.

Definitely walk from KX to Euston. It's a few minutes, tops.

Misread post so ignore!!

No lifts at Euston, can you afford an Uber/Bolt?

mitogoshi · 12/04/2024 10:30

I would walk from King's Cross (come out the St Pancras exit it's closer) you walk miles and there are steps changing lines.

There are lifts to and from the underground into Euston main station.

I would echo others and walk from Kings Cross.

Don't know about today, but going home last night there was no step free access at all at Green Park...
