Afternoon
We camp every year in Uk for two weeks during the summer
always have since I was a child.
We are now a family of 7 and I’m seriously starting to loose the love of the tent life due to compleate disorder and the fact it takes almost an entire day to pack up at the end of the trip!!
We have :- Me and husband
One Adult daughter with Autism who presents as younger
A 11 and 12 yr old
a three yr old
a one yr old
Now I really don’t think we take too much, but it’s still overwhelming!
We stay in what is basically a field with a wash block and one washing machine for the entire campsite
PLEASE share with me any amazing tips you have to keep the tent homely not trashy!!!
it’s a big bugger of a tent so space isn’t the issue
the kids DO help in fact they are rather excellent
thanx so much!!
( also yet to discover the mythical perfect beds/mats/care bear cloud for everyone either!)

Any1? I’m on line now ordering food up boxs and baskets but that may just be more stuff to take for little benefit!

You're brave! Two weeks with a family of seven and I might just want to stay home and chill.

When we camp we use the plastic stacking crates of the kind that Tesco orders come in. Each kid has one for clothes. Wetsuits in another, food in one, pans in another. Etc. When there we use one empty one for shared dirty laundry, one for wet swimmers, one for gathering washing up and take to the sinks, that kind of thing.

They stack inside each other when empty, easy to organise and store. Rinse and stack at home.

However we do have a van, which gives room for the full crates to be stacked for travelling (with a couple of bungee cords) and also allows room for the mountains of bedding required for us all.

The bedding is always a challenge
we’ve gone from sleeping bags to quilts and blankets and back to bags again. Pillows have to go on top of anyone in the car that sits still long enough and no one has room to put their feet anywhere unless it’s balanced on a cool box on their foot wells!
But we really do love it!
Good sized trailer and a top box/bag are essentials now as every seat in the 7 seater is now occupied and the boot is tiny!
