Jet2 cabin approved stroller

LittlePumpkinPie21 · 23/03/2024 19:14

Has anyone taken a cabin approved stroller on a Jet2 flight recently? Just looking for one and a lot that are coming up as cabin approved are still too big for the measurements given on the Jet2 website, so far found the Bugaboo Butterfly and the SilverCross Jet that are within the measurements.
I'm wondering if there are any others I should be looking at and would be grateful for any advice.

Just came here to say keep looking OP, they do exist as a couple on a jet2 flight to Tenerife we were on a few weeks ago had one that folded in half and was put into the overhead storage.
Tbh, it was taking less space than some of the cases!

All I can remember was it was plastic sided, 3 or 4 inches thick so not a slim tube type frame.

I had a look at cabin approved strollers a few years ago. The names that kept coming up were the Babyzen Yo-yo and GB Pockit. We didn't bother in the end though so can't comment if they meet the size limits or not. They seemed a bit expensive for something we would only use occasionally.

In the end we just got a normal cheap umbrella fold type and put it in the hold. You keep it with you right up until boarding and they normally have it waiting at the bottom of the stairs as soon as you get off, so we never missed having it in the cabin with us. You can get a padded bag to put it in if you're worried about damage, and use the extra bag space to stuff in more clothes and nappies!

Thank you, would be ideal if we could get the pushchair at the steps, will check with the airline, if not I'll look into those suggested Smile

I'm fairly sure that Jet2 let you keep pushchairs right until getting on the plane and return them straight away. We travel with them quite a lot and there's always at least one or two waiting immediately outside the door or at the bottom of the steps.

While they may be lumped in with other 'low cost' carriers, they're really a cut above Ryanair and Easyjet, eg you still get the small and large hand luggage as standard (although if you have hold luggage as well they will almost always let you check in your cabin wheelie case for free to save you having to drag it round the airport or find a space in the locker).

They don't deliberately split up families or give you crappy middle seats unless you pay to choose a seat either - we never pay and have always been given seats together even when checking in quite late.

Recently flew with jet2 and a toddler, we took an umbrella style buggy and kept it up to the gate they then take it off you and pop it in the hold, no issues at all. Ours was £50 from Argos and ideal for what we needed it for whilst away.

We've taken our Silvercross Clic onboard with Jet2 the last 2 years. It folds up very compact and is light to carry too!

Fab that's great to know as it's not too expensive compared to some, thank you, will order now Smile

would you pls be able to send a pic or link to what you used as in travelling in June and can't find anything. They seems to have the smallest size regulations of all the airlines. im really worried ill buy one that doesn't meet their requirements and it will be left behind. i literally cant find anything.
O.P if you could show me what you were originally looking at I'd appreciate it. thanks all

The SilverCross Jet stroller is within the Jet2 requirements, I've managed to get one from Vinted for £120. You're right through, I looked at lots that said cabin approved but were still too big for Jet2

BabyZen yoyo meets the cabin size criteria for jet 2. We have a yo-yo and absolutely love it, it’s now actually our main stroller!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 14/06/2024 17:25

This is from Jet2s website

Lightweight, collapsible pushchairs/buggies up to a maximum weight of 10kg can be carried free of charge, strictly on a limited release basis. Additional weight will be subject to standard excess baggage charges. No single item may weigh more than 32kg.

For your family’s convenience, and subject to local conditions, collapsible pushchairs/buggies can be used until you reach the plane steps/airbridge, and can be reclaimed immediately when you’re off the plane or at baggage reclaim, subject to local conditions.

I am looking at a stroller too was looking at the Yo Yo but then was recommended the bugaboo butterfly instead has anyone taken this on board? From where I have been reading it looks like they don’t allow any in the overhead locker but then keep seeing conflicting info. We are due to travel in August with them to Tenerife and ideally wanted to put in overhead locker so it doesn’t get damaged. Thanks in advance 😃

LittlePumpkinPie21 · 01/07/2024 21:34

We didn't have the bugaboo but I remember that it is in the size requirements for Jet2.
We were able to put ours in the overhead locker - we travelled in May this year

I’m adding to this as we’ve just flown with jet2 we took our yoyo and an ergobaby metro+ into the cabin. We still love our yoyo but I’d say metro is a better if going off-road

the problem Is they can’t always return the pushchairs until baggage reclaim. We’ve been with them before and after you’ve walked miles through the airport with a grumpy toddler plus hand luggage through security and then wait for a long time for baggage reclaim (when you finally get the pushchair back) It’s just easier to take the pushchair in the cabin!

Sleepymama20 · 29/08/2024 10:24

Might be a daft question, but if our pram is 11kg will Jet2 let us bring this on board or would we need to pay excess charges?

Ash8070 · 19/09/2024 12:16

Hi, just wondering what pram you got for travelling with jet2 that you were able to take on board with you?

thanks

Spuddled · 19/09/2024 12:19

We used a cybex libelle. Only criticism is I would have preferred the hood to be larger.
