Help- layover flight terrified!! What actually happens

The flight that I'm going on has a short 1-2 stop where I have to change to another plane. The first flight is BA and the second Qatar airlines. I stop in Doha. I have never done a split flight before so am terrified!!

Please talk me through what happens. The flight was booked as one flight even though split over one airline so Qatar are responsible for getting me to the destination. I am hoping I get some guidance but I don't actually know where I go after I get off the first flight to get the next one. I don't think I have to collect my bags as there wouldn't be time to go through security again. Feeling anxious just typing this. Really want it all to go smoothly

You’ll need to go through security again but don’t panic - ask for help from stewards they’re always happy to help and used to anxious travellers. It’s. Lovely airport albeit big tbh I would do straight to your new gate and not hang about getting drinks etc. the gates can be a long walk away.

I would second going straight to the gate. You will have plenty of time to get there but not enough to dilly dally getting coffee or shopping. A quick trip to the loo and then straight to the gate.

Where are you going OP? I only ask as if it's the only flight of the day to your onward connection they are almost certainly going to hold the plane if your connection gets in a little late.
They do know where you are and there will be others on your first flight connecting too.
I've had 40 minute connections in Dubai and made it no probs.

As others say keep calm. There will be loads of signage. Follow signs to connections and check boards for you flight and find your gate. Don't stop to shop. Just go straight to you gate. There will be loos at the gate. you might find it's close by and there shops near your gate anyway

You can tell your flight crew on the first flight you have a connection and they are helpful too.

As other say check the Doha airport website to look at maps and see how it's laid out.

Oh and the boards often tell you how long it is to walk to your gate. These are helpful but VERY conservative!

I passed through Doha returning to the UK and did security again. It was very easy as a solo traveller, all signs in English etc. you’ll be absolutely fine. I think I had 90m between flights it wasn’t a problem at all, no home alone style sprinting through the airport!

Thank you so much! Advice to follow signs to connections is what I needed.

Due to arrive into Doha at 23.40 and the next flight leaves 1.20am so not even 2 hours.

I've had a 55-minute connection at Qatar, and it's fine. You have ages no need to stress.
