Where in Norfolk

Hi all,
We are hoping to go on holiday to Norfolk this year just a cheap budget caravan holiday.
I've been looking at caistor on sea I think it's a haven sight but I'm not sure if this is the best place.
We have a car but Dh doesn't like driving in areas he isn't familiar with are there places a short drive out from caistor that are nice? Or places we can get to by bus/train easily?
Also if we book this site can the pool be used frequently or is it too busy to bother paying the extra? Any recommendations for other sites that may be better or places local to visit would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hopton is a great site, possibly bigger than Caister. You can access the beach and it is a short drive to Great Yarmouth.

Or, I absolutely love a boat holiday on the Norfolk Broads. They are very easy to control and you can moor up in the middle of nowhere for peace and quiet, or in places like Norwich and Great Yarmouth. They are comparable in price to Haven as well.

We stayed at Caister last September. Lovely clean site which borders the beach, with direct access to it. There are very regular buses into Great Yarmouth from outside the site (I think about a 15 minute ride). We also went to Norwich by bus one day, which was about an hour from Great Yarmouth (timings might be slightly out).
We were warned off the sites right in Gt Yarmouth, as we wanted a quieter location. I drive us to/from our holidays but we didn't drive at all during our break. Would happily go back.
Didn't use the pool, sorry.

Thank you both. Dh would love the broads as would I but we have 4 DC the youngest is 1 I don't think my nerves could take it!! Caister sounds good if there are regular buses and it's quiet. Norwich is somewhere we would like to visit. Are other places close by the sites you both mentioned?

It looks like there are buses from Hopton to Great Yarmouth and Norwich, plus if your DH can deal with the drive Bewilderwood is a 45 min drive from Hopton (half that from Caister), which is well worth a visit, the kids will love it.

If theme parks are your thing, there looks to be a bus from Hopton to Pleasurewood Hills, which is great for all ages, its not too grown up/big rides!

You would be surprised how secure the boats are, plus you will all get lifejackets. You could always hire one for a day, but on there day boats you do not usually get a toilet, or kitchen for prepping food so may need to stop frequently. We took DC on the broads from about age 2 and it was always good fun.

Thank you, not really a fan of theme parks but thank you for the suggestion. I've never heard of bewilderwood I'll look into it. A day on the broads may be nice to see how we cope with it 🙈.

Does anyone else have any ideas about where to visit? we will be going for a week and want to have plenty to do!! We love the beach and coastal walks but it's also good to have shops ( love charity shops 😁) or museums to visit if the weather isn't good.
