Holiday for spring/summer 2005, where shall we go?

there is currently an auction in palce, running to help my dh have a good holiday to build his strength up. He says the spring would be bettter as his chest is bothering him. but where do we go? He likes to see interesting places, but cant do too much walking, wants entertainment, but not too much, we will have 3 kids age 5 and under with us. dont want a butlins/haven holiday really, fancy something really relaxing where dh can just potter about if he needs to and i can take the kdis out somewhere fun. oh, and must be south east based ideally (we're in herts) as dh doesnt want to travel too far due to his health problems.

Bella Vista at the same place says it has a corner bath but it's more expensive. Will see what else I can find.

misdee · 26/12/2004 22:10

bella vista is just about in our price range. they have raised over £330 already and it runs till New years day.

Another bungalow , near the beach again, much cheaper but a bit boring.

misdee · 26/12/2004 22:20

you are a star, i think bella vista is a strong contender.

I am worried about booking in advance in case dh has a bad turn, and we cant go. we had to cancel a holiday before as dh ended up in hospital.

You could try Hythe imperial hotel.Web site often does offers.Child friendly beside sea. Also lovely minature railway.

This one looks nice but it's North Norfolk, lots for the kids there but you'd have to go to Kings Lynn for entertainment I think. Also is 2-storey, that's no good for DH is it?

JanH · 26/12/2004 22:22

Oh, dear, that is a worry and you couldn't get insurance, could you?

Maybe you should wait for a bit and look for a last-minute booking nearer the time you'd be going?

misdee · 26/12/2004 22:22

2 storey no good. looks like it would have steep steps too, judging by age of it.

Parklands Bungalows at Hemsby - lots of different ones. Not a holiday park.

JanH · 26/12/2004 22:32

Near Lowestoft - can't find full details though (eg bath)

Minstrel · 26/12/2004 22:38

Lowestoft has quite a good hospital if you needed it, also Norwich is close by and they have a big new one.
