Barcelona city break

I'm thinking of doing a city break to Barcelona next easter with the kids (I know its a long way off). Ideally I'd like to fly direct from Glasgow or Newcastle. I prefer booking package deals although would consider doing it seperately if it was going to save me. What are Easyjet holidays like? What would be the cheapest time to book? If I look at holidays for next Easter, the prices are sky high compared with this year.

Easter is expensive to travel to most places sadly. It’s because just about everywhere has holidays at that time from school. Would you consider February half term? Not sure where you are based but in Perth we have 3 days rolling into the weekend.

Easyjet holidays are fine. I’d also look at jet2 citybreaks. You’d get from Glasgow or Edinburgh direct.

You’d get a packaged city break for next year either now or in the next few weeks. If you want to do flights separately, you’ll need to wait for them to be released which will be a few months off.

Haven't done a package, think we flew with Easyjet, no problems there.

Just wanted to recommend the Lonely Planet Guide to Barcelona as it has great picks for places to eat and drink. If you just pick somewhere at random in a tourist spot, the food might not be that great, but there are some fantastic tapas and seafood places to try, which are well worth seeking out.

I had some of the best food I'd ever tried in Barcelona, but a friend of mine who did no research, and ate at the tourist spots, thought the food was awful.

Enjoy your trip, its a wonderful city and I wish I'd stayed for more than the three days we had.

Yes I would consider it, we went away Feb half term this year. I had just hoped for slightly better weather but I'll definitely compare prices for Feb too. I'm based in the North East of England but family is still in scotland so can fly from there too. Thanks for the tips.
