Is this worth a trip with my 4 year old ds?

yes

CarGirl · 24/03/2008 21:58

only if he is tall enough to go on the rides!

casawasa · 24/03/2008 22:00

Should I expect to queue for a long time for rides? What are the facilities like?

we went on a really really busy day, hated it and haven't been back yet! We spent ages in a queue to the car park! Facilities generally good, water park nice if it's warm enough.

my ds first went aged 4 and loved it. The playgrounds are good and he really enjoys the shows so even if yours doesn't like rides you can still have fun. Mine actually only want Miniland and the playground. The food's expensive, the time it takes them to make a coffee is unbelievable but the toilets are good. The 'ride' my ds likes best is the car driver. On a busy day we've queued for 45 mins but it is bearable. I'd suggest you take a picnic and try to choose a nice day! We went on Saturday, lasted an hour and went home completely frozen. The one odd thing is that the shop is completely rubbish. But you do get 10% discounts if you take out annual passes. If you're likely to visit a couple of times it can work out well. A friend buys all her presents there and with the 10% off does very well.

We went last weekend. Its was freezing, but at least the queues were bearable. I'd hate to be there on a warm day in school hols.

DS's (4&7) enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say more so than a trip to an adventure playground.

The highlight for them was miniland (the lego models) rather than the rides.

All in all it was Ok, but I won't be rushing back.

take a picnic. It's a great day out as long as he likes the rides.

The first time we went, DS1 refused to go on anything

We got the year pass with our tesco vouchers, and really enjoy it, but I would be severly narked off to pay regular prices for 1 day out.

We only live about an hour away, so we can go for the afternoon. We will queue for maybe 1 ride, but then spend the rest of the time in miniland, at the cinema thing or other attractions.

We tend to go on weekdays when we can, and try to avoid the mobs.

Get your own rain poncho thingy for the Viking ride!!! If I remember correctly, it dies down at the end of the day?

Have fun!!

Went last summer, spent most of the day baking in queues! Kids got really fed up, in the end we bought them pirate eyepatches and headbands and they found a bit of grass to run around and play pirates with some other kids. If they are asked what was the best thing about Legoland they still say playing pirates!
