Help me choose

My kids are 5, 3, 1. I am in the eye of the storm, as they say...

Am torn between Eurocamp. But the drive to Portsmouth is 6-7 hours from home. That and the self catering (constantly having to fetch snacks etc) puts me off.

The alternative is a Balaerics type holiday - all inclusive, 4 to 5 star. Someone cooking for me and someone cleaning the room every day. This is about 1.5k more but I'd willingly pay that.

I'm worried that Menorca (for example) would be too hot for my 1 year old.

Any suggestions of where might be good. I want nice but not luxe. So Sani etc are out of budget. Not sure I'm keen on the look of Royal Son Bou, probably want a step up from that.

Any suggestions welcome- and particularly whether I am better going for a Eurocamp or an All Inclusive type option for kids of those ages.

I would rule out Eurocamp on the basis of a 6-7 hour drive at either end of the ferry crossing!!
If you go All Inclusive then you're really tied to being in the resort full time which could get tedious with small children. I'd probably be tempted to do half board then you could go out n about during the day and not be stressing about being back for lunch. Are you going in the summer holidays?

I went to Menorca a few years ago and there was a tui all inclusive that was great for the kids and the beach was very accessible as well. It wasn't super expensive, and the food and drink were perfectly fine if a little repetitive. I think it's poshed up now and is called the tui blue Victoria playa? Something like that

I wouldn’t want Eurocamp as it’s the same chores you as at home but a different location! A nice hotel with two bedrooms and a lounge area, someone else to make the beds and do the cooking is much more of an appealing holiday! Why does it need to be the Balearics? Spain or canaries are also great locations for children and can be cheaper.

It will be hard work wherever you go to with kids of those ages. So I would make things as easy as poss.

I would ditch Eurocamp
and maybe do Centreparcs in Holland cheaper than the UK and warmer.
I haven’t done this but friends did years ago and cheaper and warmer than UK.

Or go HB in a nice family friendly hotel so you have some freedom. AI places are usually out on limb in the middle of nowhere can be a bit full on and whacky races like at meal times. I trust you are going outside the main summer holidays?
