Torn between tui blue flamingo beach and relaxia lanzasur for this May.

We have a 4 and 7 year old so need some decent slides etc in pool and good entertainment inc mini disco at night. Any recommendations or suggestions would be welcome!

Can't give an opinion on either resort, but we have stayed near FB. The beach was our favourite. Artificial, with a mini lagoon made with rocks, so it looks natural. Thus makes a small, shallow bay, which gets warm quickly. We have fond memories of DD floating across in an inflatable boat. Close to Playa Blanca, so a nice, sea view walk in the evenings.

We went to flamingo last year with a 5 and 2 year old

The slide was ok for these but they preferred just the pool anyway

I wouldn’t class it as a decent slide especially for a 7 year old

Not sure if you have but even without a booking you can download the tui blue app and it has the programme of what is done daily

We didn’t use the kids club but the games kept them busy they played a couple

The evening entertainment also starts at 7 which was good as lots of other places were saying 8+ for the children’s disco

Wherever you stay if you are going to do day trips the submarine was enjoyed by all

Did flamingo beach 3 years ago and it was great as the beach itself is fantastic and just outside. Very safe for little ones! You also get a sea view in all rooms as far as I can tell. Kids club was great. Pools are not that great for your older one in terms of slides etc (better for little one) but overall it was a great holiday and a really good location. Mini disco is brilliant!

I've been toPlaya Blanca many times but neither of those hotels. I was at the Iberostar Lanzarote park last week which is near enough next door to the TUI hotel which we walked past. It's about a 20 minute+ walk from the resort and another 30 minutes from the marina.
The beach itself is poor IMO, don't go to PB for the beaches. Small and man made. Busy in January so I imagine more so in summer.

wineandmaltesers · 07/02/2024 13:37

Haven't stayed in those resorts, walked past the Tui one which looked nice, we stayed in the Iberostar Lanzarote Park last May HT, gorgeous hotel and great for our 7yr old.
The beaches are lovely, though we didn't spend much time there, lovely path around the coast to Playa Blanca.

We are thinking about Blue Flamingo too. Anyone who has been, did you do/would recommend all inclusive with children? We never have, preferring the variety of eating out, but I am wondering this time...

Snowdropsarecoming · 07/02/2024 13:43

I was saying Flamingo beach was the poorest of all the TUI Blue family hotels we’ve been to.

Puddingpieplum · 07/02/2024 14:04

I stayed in the Relaxia a few weeks ago! It was lovely, you actually get free unlimited access to the waterpark next door, where your all inclusive is valid and you can have lunch and all soft drinks.
The accommodation is very dated and you get 2 beds in the lounge. I didn't feel happy with the dc sleeping in there alone as the door to the bungalow is in the lounge, so we ended up with one dc with an adult in the double bed, and one adult in the lounge. The kods club is grand and runs for 2 hours twice a day. Theres a mini disco 6 nights a week.

The food got very samey by the end of the week, but I think that's just AI in the Canaries and not specific to this hotel.

We went with Jet 2 and didn't pay a fortune.

We did all inclusive at flamingo and I think there was a nice selection of food for adults and children

the children had there own section and as well

there was always one section with pizza and different pastas
lots of meat choice and different forms of potatoe and vegetables
then a cold meat/salad/olives etc

soup bread

it was all labelled with allergens etc

finding different places to eat doesn’t appeal to me especially with the children

some people moaned the food was samey but there was a good selection and none of us went hungry

dessert station was far to good 😂

I took the kids to the Relaxia Lanzasur and even though we my children are not up their own arses, one of them announced “mummy, I do not think we are three star people.” There was a high sleeve tattoo factor and the food was very very very samey, reused over and over. The watermark is only free if you make sure that’s included when you book. And when you get there, the food there is awful and there’s piped music EVERYWHERE, not a quiet corner to be had.

We were in a 1 bed bungalow and so the kids were on sofa beds in the lounge which in reality was a mattress on a plywood frame.

So a strong thumbs down from the Ball family.

I can't agree. It's entirely down to what you pay. I just had a week at the Iberostar and the food was fabulous, couldn't have eaten better in a restaurant. It's pricey though. I've stayed in a 3 star before and the food there was basic.

Were the pools warm enough at this hotel and also the splash park?

TwigTheWonderKid · 13/02/2024 23:09

I don't know about those hotels but can definitely recommend the Iberostar Lanzarote Park. Food was very good, there is a children's pool with nice slides and lots of organised activities for children. The nearest beach is a few minutes walk away and is a nice safe beach if you have small children.

TedWilson · 13/02/2024 23:31

I have stayed at Relaxia. It's not posh but good value. The accommodation set up we liked in the bungalow as got a separate room from the kids! Water park good. We found the food fine it was just average Spanish buffet. Some of the clientele did leave a bit to be desired though. However I have heard the same re Flamingo Beach. Flamingo Beach is right on the beach whereas Relaxia is set back if that makes a difference.

Sid077 · 13/02/2024 23:35

We stayed in Flamingo Beach twice, first time it was still a holiday village and we really enjoyed it along with our 3 yr old - she loved the pools and we stayed in an apartment near reception so an upgraded room, nice with kitchenette to cook a snack if needed useful to have with a toddler. Pools very suitable for this age group and we also went in May so reasonably quiet as still school term. The second time we went it had been downgraded as blue flamingo and we definitely noticed a difference, room was smaller and further away from reception, if you have the opportunity to upgrade I would. The food was nowhere near in terms of our previous visit. In general the staff are nice although cleaning staff arriving at 0830 or before daily is a bit much for me. Usual nonsense with sun beds by pool, food is ok nothing special. The beach is lovely and on the doorstep. You can walk to the water park nearby with loads of slides etc. The entertainment is 99% for kids and shuts down for all at about midnight. The pool also closes at 6pm which some ppl were not happy about although it really didn’t bother me too much. I wouldn’t go there again but there’s a lot going for this place in terms of location and if you get a good deal it’s worth a visit imo.

Puddingpieplum · 14/02/2024 12:25

@Jessica60 yes the pools are grand. 2 of the 3 in the hotel are heated. In the watermark the wave pool was heated. The one you land in from the slides wasn't, but that's half the fun isn't it?!
