Paris with DD13

I’m booking three nights in Paris for me and DD13 at Easter. It’s about 20 years since I last went, and DD’s only request is to see the Eiffel Tower at night and ‘preppy shopping’ which could mean anything 😆

Any suggestions for places to visit/eat at that might impress a 13 year old? And is there a best area to look for hotels?

I've said it before on many similar threads....I honestly don't think you need to look for anything in particular to impress....the whole of Paris is special. Just do all the usual tourist stuff and she'll be wowed. Every street is filled with pretty little authentic French street cafes. Al the tourist areas have lovely shopping areas. Just do the Eiffel tower, a river cruise, see the Mona Lisa, have a foody walking tour of Montmartre, see the Notre Dam and just walk around and soak in how beautiful it all is.
I lived there, so I've no real idea on hotels sorry.

We went last year when DD was a similar age and she liked the Dior Museum and Galleries Lafayette (you can go onto the roof and see for miles). We also went to see Moulin Rouge which was her favourite part.

Eating-wise, it was nice up in Monmartre and we went to a very good steak/frites place near Champs d’Elysee.

There is a big shopping centre underground near the Louvre now too.

Went when my dd was 18.

We liked:

Boat ride seeing the sights
Montparnasse tower - go to the viewing gallery at night and watch the Eiffel Tower being lit up
The catacombs
Sephora
The art galleries... you can get really close to the Monet Waterlillies paintings

Go and sit for a mother daughter panting at the top of montmartre!

We stayed at the Astotel 34b, which worked very well for us. Walkable to museums and to different metro stations to go in different directions. Also close to Gare du Nord.

@Ginismyfriend Book Musee d’Orsay. Give The Louvre and Mona Lisa a miss. It’s a small painting and just had soup thrown at it. The Louvre is huge and not much fun for a 13 year old. Boat trip, Monmartre, Left Bank (good area to stay in) is fun for browsing. Le Marais is also ok for staying in. My DD loves Paris and adores the Foundation Louis Vuitton - has great exhibitions and is a fantastic building.

Shopping at Printemps of Galleries Lafayette is fun. Window shopping at Hermes won’t disappoint either and you must see the window displays at Fauchon! Food, glorious food!

Also we liked our visit to Opera Garnier and Place Vendome is so chic!
