Hi!
We’re going on a family holiday in a month and I’m keen to know any must haves for an 8 month baby on a hot holiday? Any hand luggage & cabin bag packing advice too! Thanks xxx

The above list is good. If you have space in hand luggage pack a full change of clothes for everyone. We have had several random vomits on planes and in the airport. My DH didn’t think he needed a full change of clothes and had to travel long haul in vomit soaked jeans.

If you are renting a car and bringing a car seat put it in a bag and pad it out with nappies.

Travel blackout blind - we have the Tommee Tippee one.
Calpol sachets
UV pop up beach tent
White noise machine
Swim seat - we like Zoggs Baby Zoggy
Packing cubes
Zip lock bags

You can get floats which you slip them into which come with an attached sun shade

Try the sun cream (should be factor 50 minimum) ahead of time on a small patch of their arm or leg so have at least 48h to assess for a reaction, and then can buy an alternative, rather than getting there and them reacting and not knowing if maybe the bedding, the sun, the food, etc. We have a daughter with allergies though so this might seem a strange one to others!
