Looking to buy a pushchair for holiday abroad as my everyday pram is unsuitable, anyone know of any ideal pushchairs for abroad? Thanks

It depends. How old is your baby/toddler? What kind of holiday do you plan?

We took a MacLaren Quest for our 2 year old for a trip to Mallorca but she was walking already confidently and we also had our back carrier for longer walks in the countryside. The buggy was more for emergencies and when we knew she needed a nap and we were out the whole day.

While we flew several times with our Bugaboo Chameleon with the toddler seat to visit family but swapped to take the MacLaren when DD was around 15 months.

If you have a baby under 1 or you hope it will sleep in it in the evenings/naps I would look or a buggy you can recline fully though. If you plan lots of walking/hikes invest in a good back carrier or front carrier if your baby is still small.

Something like a Baby jogger, Nipper or Mountain buggy would be a good all rounder. Can recline, big enough wheels to cope with lumpy paths, folds up well and robust enough to cope with check in. Also plenty available second hand.

YoYo if you want to take it on the plane with you and not check it in - although would have to check your airline’s rules.

I've got a Hauck one for holidays. Was about £70, it's light, folds up small, and has a great sunshade. For the 2 holidays we take abroad each year it's perfect, and my second child is now using it. No need to spend loads in my view unless you are away a lot. We sometimes use it if we go away in the UK to visit family and need something that takes up less space in the car. I wouldn't take it off road or anything, but otherwise it's great.

YoYo? Take it as a carry-on onto the plane, the shoulder strap means you can carry it hands free, mine have both slept really well in it, also suitable for tiny ones with the newborn nest. It’s perfect for travel. Only downside is that it’s quite pricy but if your current pram is massive then consider that it might be a worthwhile investment into the toddler years.

We have the LeClerc, it’s a lot cheaper than the YoYo and you can put it up/down with one hand. It also comes with most of the accessories (like a rain cover and travel bag) unlike the YoYo.
It folds small enough to fit in the overhead lockers but we usually check ours in. It’s pretty study and they sell a toddler seat that you can attach to the back if you have more than one child (it has a proper seat and straps unlike most toddler boards- very important if you don’t want your older child escaping!). They also sell car seat attachments and a bassinet if you have a newborn (the prices are much more reasonable than the YoYo).
The only thing I don’t like is that the wheels aren’t great on sand or cobbles, but most travel strollers don’t have massive wheels so none are great off road.
We like it so much that it’s pretty much replaced our main pushchair. It’s so much easier to put up/down and fits easily into the boot of car (it’s also easier to put up and down if we’re using public transport).
