Planning a weekend break, travelling by Eurostar.

Which of these destinations would you say are a better visit for 2 nights?

Also any recommendations of things to do or nice mid range restaurants in either place would be very welcome

Thank you

Can I throw in Bruges as an alternative to both?

It is compact and sooo pretty. There are a number of museums and art galleries, breweries with tours, chocolate museum, a boat tour, the tower, historic churches. Plenty to keep you happily occupied for two nights.

You can get the train from Brussels to Bruges by the way.

Both great cities, but I'd opt for Rotterdam.

Wonderfully vibrant place with tons to see and do:
Boat tour round the harbour, trip up the Euromast, lots of museums, super friendly people.
Consider getting a Rotterdam Welcome Card which gives discounts on most attractions.

You could also have a trip to the bulbfields and Keukenhof Gardens if that appeals, though to be honest there's more than enough in Rotterdam itself to keep you occupied for a weekend.

Have a great time whichever you choose.

Thank you but we've been to Bruges (& Amsterdam, which would also be an alternative).

Agree, beautiful place & loved the boat tour

Forgot to mention, from Rotterdam you could also take the Waterbus to Dordrecht or to Kinderdijk (famous row of windmills).

Brussels was lovely too. Grand Place is a bigger version of the square in Bruges.

We liked the Impressionists at the Museum of Fine Arts. And it's a nice building too.

Apparently the Atomium is worth a visit. We had to give it a miss because we went in summer and it was roasting!

I can't help with restaurants because we're vegan.
