If you are in Seville....

Going in a week. Very limited packing space. Checking the weather apps every day! I literally cannot wait to feel a little
Sun on my face. But...what on earth to pack? If you are there now or just home, is it sandals weather? Or jeans and trainers with socks, t/shirt and a jumper/jacket? I know it says like spring weather but don't want to under or over pack the wrong thing. Any help on what you have been wearing would be great.

I’m no help but just wanted to say that Seville is my favourite city to visit. Enjoy ☺️

I'm having the same dilemma. I'm heading to Malaga and Cordoba next week. Weather apps say around 17 degrees but in a Facebook group people have said it was 27 the other day. You'll definitely need warm stuff for the night.

Was there last week. Colder than i had anticipated although sun in the day was lovely and warm. Not sandals weather, take jumper (&coat/jacket) definitely - will need in evening. I took warm shawls to layer up. Basically took layers so I could strip off or add as necessary. The trees are full of oranges - beautiful!

Omg! 27 degrees, how lovely. I think Seville seems to be between 17-20. But with only taking one big suitcase between 4 and then a small carry on bag doesn't give us much room for error Grin Mind you if it's that lovely and warm I would be happy in my vest and pants if needed!!!

Thanks! Ok, so it's trousers and t-shirts with layers. Looking forward to happy some brighter days

I went to Malaga in Feb half term a couple of years ago. It was a range of temps from warm (t-shirt and light trousers) one day, to pretty cold in the mornings and evenings. You definitely want to take a jumper and a light coat that scrunches up small. Uniqlo or M&S both do a light down coat is perfect. Otherwise, I'd take a couple of t-shirts, a couple of long-sleeved tops, I'd travel in jeans and take one pair of lighter trousers in case it gets warm in the afternoons. I doubt you'll need a hat and gloves, but a scarf is small, lightweight and useful and I always take one on winter trips.

Weather is looking good for Seville next week - although a couple of days suggest mist which could bring temperature down .

Definitely layers as there can be a big difference between top afternoon temperatures and evening / early morning . I would also pop a light waterproof or umbrella in . Admittedly next week is looking good but we had heavy rain in Estepona last February whereas previous year I was in shorts and sun top!

@rainydogday
How was your trip?
Any recommendations?
We go on Sunday!

rainydogday · 16/02/2024 22:50

@House4DS we absolutely loved it! We got soaked the first day. Then it was warm and sunny. Everyone ate outside in the evenings. Only needed a thin jumper but felt like a summers evening in UK. We booked tickets for the palace and cathedral. Fell in love with the palace. So so beautiful. Dont forget to climb the tower in the cathedral, its slopes rather than steps until one stair case at the top. We booked the Setas (mushroom) when we were there for about 18:30 to see the sunset. The plaza was also stunning, quite a walk from the cathedral area. We did hire the electric scooters and went over the bridge to Triana too. Can't remember where it was but we headed for 'the orange shop' near the cathedral and followed Google map and the little
Streets were so pretty - definitely worth a walk. It seemed to get quite hot and sunny from about 3pm, so we often had a laze about on the roof top/pool. Although the pool was freezing. Have a fantastic time!

@House4DS
Ps your weather looks great when you are there. I would go back in a flash. Quite jealous!

@rainydogday
Did you need to book tickets for the cathedral in advance or could you have just turned up on spec ?
We'll be there for one night next Tuesday / Wednesday. Have visited the cathedrals in Malaga and Cordoba over the last week and didn't need advance booking .

House4DS · 16/02/2024 23:32

@rainydogday thank you. Sounds great! I've booked tickets for the palace and also for a 'free' walking tour (never done one so thought we might as well).
Hoping to be able to get tickets for the cathedral on the day (I heard a ticket covering the El Salvador church too involves less queuing if bought at the church).

rainydogday · 16/02/2024 23:41

Everything I read said book in advance from the actual website, avoid scam sites. The queues were very long. We got there about 20 mins before our slot and were near the front. They all move pretty quickly and once inside everyone spreads out as it is massive:

Was in the Algarve one September years ago, the weather was shit so took the bus to the river that marks the border with Spain - don't drive - and the ferry over to Spain. Amazing place with an evening market, flamenco music everywhere, then a bus to Seville next day.

Fell absolutely in love with the Alcazar. (I love doing mosaic).

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea Loved Cordoba too. The Mosque inside the Cathedral (or the other way round lol), just magical.

The Moorish history of Andalucia is so interesting - they were there for around 700 years. Brought irrigation there and all.

MariaLuna · 16/02/2024 23:50

Oh, was travelling solo by the way.

alseb · 17/02/2024 21:50

There is a bridge near to the bull ring
Cross over the bridge and on the other side there’s a lovely area of shops, bars, squares etc
