I lived in Turkey for 2 years previously. On holiday last year mid October the sea was lovely to swim in and the pool was a little chilly but perfectly ok to swim in for short bursts. The sun was up and a nice 28-31 degrees at around 8am but it started to get cooler at around 4.30pm. Definitely need a cardigan or jacket in the evenings. It was a lovely week and I'm definitely going to go back in October this year!

I went last October half term to Side. Was really hot (not unbearable-just like a "normal" summer holiday, not ridiculous 48 degree)
Pool was absolutely fine, and I'd 100% recommend Side, it was lovely

We went to Lanzarote last Oct half term just gone and it was 25° most days but pool was still chilly.
weve booked Antalya area this year and apparently it’s meant to be nice still

The Med warms up all through the summer and only loses heat slowly after that. It's often as warm in December as the English Channel is in June. The coldest month is March, after a further three months of losing heat faster than the winter sun can put it back. In October I would expect the sea might be warmer than the pool in Turkey.

There is a nice little site called seatemperature.net which, as the name suggests, lets you enter a place name and see the current and year-round water temperatures.
