Hi, I need help, advice and possibly a lobotomy for even booking this holiday!!

I am very luckily off on my hols to The Costa Dorada, La Pineda at the Hotel Golden Donaire. This is the first beach holiday i have been to with kids but without dh! We are half board so don't have to stray too far. The hotel is actually on the beach so don't have far too travel for that either.

But what do i do to not only keep the kids entertained but also safe (terrified of losing them!!). Dh usually does the energetic stuff with them so know i am going to be absolutely exhausted - so will be pleased i won't be having late nights drinking and will probably go to sleep when they do!!!!

Going in August for 2 weeks so not even sure how we will all cope with weather and staying out all day at beach (if thats my only option?).

I shall love you forever if you can put my mind at rest as i am sooooo excited to be going xx

No specific advice as mine is only little, but I am sure you will have a fabulous time. Invest in a frisbee, bucket and spade and a beach ball and they will probably wear themselves out on the beach during the day. Take some good books for yourself too.

With mine I find getting into a bit of a routine and diving the day up helps, e.g. breakfast, couple of hours at the beach with a break for coffee/drinks/ice creams, then lunch and maybe some time indoors to rest and avoid heat of the day. Then out to the pool for the afternoon.

You might find the hotel organises activities and also there will be other children so you won't have to do ALL the energetic stuff.

Have a wonderful break and enjoy the change of scene and routine. Plus someone else doing the cooking and cleaning up!

Thanks Daffodilly. I hadn't thought of it in terms of dividing up the day - it doesn't seem soooo daunting somehow!

And the thought of an afternoon siesta would do me the world of good (although easy enough getting ds to have a nap but dd is another matter!)

Have always avoided the kids clubs but might just take a look this time!

Thanks for taking the time to reply - You have made me stop worrying for the first time since i booked it!!
