Hi my dd is currently in year 13 doing her A levels would it be a mistake to have a few days away during the Feb half term due to the final exams in the summer ?

Ask her what she wants - they might be getting a lot of pressure to revise hard over half term from school.

We asked our DSS at the weekend what he wanted to do over half term, and he said 'revise'. He'd be really stressed if we were to go away for a few days - though obviously we will plan/encourage him to do some fun and relaxing things too over the break.

Our Ds school do the Year 13 trip away in the Feb half term, most kids seem to manage okay. I guess it's really down to the individual children though.
Our ds is planning to take some revision with him for the evenings & has a solid revision plan for weekends & the Easter break.

I think it would be nice to get away and have a bit of a break before/time out from studying before it gets really intense.

Thankyou all for your replies , it helps as she’s my only child so I wasn’t sure .
The little break might do her good she’s been so stressed

I think it's a great time to go away - half the holiday gives time for downtime at home and some study too. I'm an a level teacher and parent of sixth formers.

In our family, NO holidays for half-term or Easter in GCSE and A'Level years. Just not worth it, and puts even more pressure on the kids. Long weekend, why not.
