Disneyland Paris - with 2 children under 3 years

Massively jumping the gun since I am only pregnant with no 2 sorry!

I've wanted to re-visit Disney for years, I haven't been since I was a teen.

Would it be mad to try and bring a nearly 3 year old and a 10 month old? Possibly thinking next May. They would both get in for free. If we waited until DS was over 3 the ticket price is nearly the same as an adult.

DH does not go on rollercoasters. I love them but doubt I'd get on many, maybe if some had single rider queues or short queues. We would most likely stick to the little kid areas.

If you book a hotel on site can you go between the hotels? Is there anything to do in the evening? Obv we will prob be in bed by 8pm anyway so not looking for night clubs!

Or would you be better off staying somewhere like centre parcs near by and make a week out of it?

We enjoyed the Centreparcs in the May half term - we took our car and parking at Disneyland was free. We had mostly great weather. We liked the soft play, the children’s farm, the playgrounds and sand pit area. The pool was also lovely although very slippery round the poolside so beware. The CP pool was busy on weekends as the locals get day passes.

We did two consecutive days at the DP park and we were exhausted because we stayed for the light show at night (our 3 yo fell asleep and missed it all!).

I think staying in the Disney hotel would have been amazing but we wanted a whole week away and this was a cost effective way of doing it.

We stayed at one of the hotels for 3 nights when kids were 2 1/2 and 4 months. It was great as since smallest couldn’t go on the rides we could all queue then 2 1/2 year old got 2 turns in a row on whatever ride it was we’d waited for. It’s convenient as they are fairly close to the park so it’s a quick trip home at end of the day/evening but in honesty it’s a trek to get back to them during the day unless you pay for the expensive one right at the entrance. If I were doing it again I might go with the option where you have a week away and just a couple of days at Disney though it would depend what offers they were running. We got 2 meals & a snack a day included on a dining plan without any extra costs vs room only on an early bird offer and that made a big difference

@PartTimePartyPooper as much as I'd love the car it would be about 15 hours and I don't know about that with small kids! I think there is a bus from CP to Disney. Yes the reason I was looking at CP was also to make it a full holiday not just 2 days.

@whatkatydid2014 staying on site though does sound good too! I have family who are only about an hour away on a fast train from central Paris so we could go to Disney then go stay with family (who have invited us several times) for a few days before heading home

I might just pay for DS and wait until DC no 2 could at least get on the tea cups

Personally I wouldn't bother with that, unless it is to tell other people you are going to Eurodisney. The kids are too young and won't remember it. Book a stay at Peppa pig world or Gulliver's instead and save your money. These are theme parks geared up for under 10's

We were thinking about going with DD,4. Of the three friends we have asked who have all been in the last few months, all have told to wait until she is older (6-7 at least).
They said their kids had melt downs at the long queues, long days and the fact that at this age they are happy with a trip to the park! Also one friend walked 21 miles in one day around the park!
We do have three other holidays and peppa pig world booked tho so I'm fine to wait!

GintyMcGinty · 24/01/2024 19:54

I love Disneyland Paris but think it would be a complete waste of money taking children that age.

I'd wait a few years.

I took my son when he was 4 and i would say that was just about old enough. He understood he had to wait in the ques and could be patient, he just about coped with all the walking and staying up for the fireworks. We did 2 nights (3days) and any more would've been to much, he was absolutely exhausted by time we where home. Hes 6 now and still talks about how much fun he had.
I just had another baby and were going to wait until shes just about to start school to go again

I appreciate everyone giving their experience/ views. We're in Ireland so a lot of the big UK ones still involve a ferry, but might be a better option while they are small. DH wants to go somewhere called digger land with DS!

We have a small theme park in Ireland that should probably be our 1st try.

Go later if you want them to remember it, go now if you want to enjoy it. I've got 4 kids and the first time we went DS1 was 6 and DD1 was 5. They don't remember it. We ended up going loads of times afterwards because DD2 arrived 5 years later (when the others were 11 and 10) and DS2 6 years later. DS2 went for the first time @ 6 months old because the oldest two were properly into their theme parks by then. We also got an annual family pass because you used to get 20% off (it was also the time that you could fly into CDG and get the TGV for 11 minutes taking you to the entrance to the park) and some of the hotels were "reasonable" for a family of six (Explorers hotel in particular). ALL that said, if YOU want to go, it is not the worse place in the world to go if you have children - as long as you avoid the main holidays (horrendous queues) and don't mind the expense. There is nothing to do at night, but we used to have a drink and pizza in the hotel and the kids used to play in the softplay. Given we were going at least twice a year, we tried lots of different accommodation, including apartments at Val'd'Europ, and hotels just 10 mins away on the RER. We found Port Aventura (near Salou) at least as good.
