Hi all

Has anyone been on this ship?
We normally do RC but prices are crazy now.

What is it like for older kids, food and entertainment.

Thanks

I went on Britannia last year on a short cruise to Bruges and Amsterdam with my adult DC, and we all had a great time.

We thought the food and entertainment were really good, and all the children/teens on board seemed to be having a whale of a time.

I’ve been on RC too, and also loved their product, but as you say, prices are crazy now and then you have to factor in high drinks prices and additional gratuities (which I don’t mind paying, but tips are included in the P&O upfront price).

So in summary, I think P&O is better VFM. Although you’ll find plenty on MN who disagree, some of which is down to snobbery imo.

I’ve also only been on a short sailing on Britannia (my only P&O cruise) and had fun.
Check out NCL as there drinks are either included or offered at a very cheap price.
Out of the cruise companies I’ve sailed on this is my ranking
Scenic
Disney
Celebrity
RC
NCL only slightly behind RC as I love their spas
Marella and P&O, I would sail with either again, both great fun, good entertainment and good itineraries.
Carnival - I wouldn’t sail with them again.

We did Britannia in 2019, our first ever cruise. We really loved it. Kids loved the kids clubs and the entertainment was fantastic. Food was fantastic and I couldn't fault it. We have done three P and O cruises since and Britannia was our favourite.

One other thing I should have said to the OP is that IF your own kids are into stuff like the Flowrider, water slides, dodgems and skating rink (as on RC) then they may find P&O a bit lame. However at that age, my own DC were happy chilling with other kids in the Teen club or in hot tubs or getting midnight snacks etc on P&O.

Perhaps MSC is worth a look?

So it’s horses for courses really.
