Where would you stay on Corfu with a toddler?

Considering Corfu for our summer holiday this year with our toddler who will be 2 by then. She is a late walker so we may still be heavily dependent on the stroller. Which area would you recommend staying? We normally travel independently and prefer somewhere that still feels Greek without much of the ‘Brits abroad’ or package holiday scene. Would like to be near a calm shallow beach with nice scenery and good tavernas. Don’t need kids club or water slides etc but a pool might be nice. Would appreciate any recommendations on which area to stay or specific hotels/appartments which are toddler friendly.

I wouldn’t go near corfu in August. Too hot for a little one

In summer rather

Thanks, I should have said early summer. We will probably go in June so I hope that’s a compromise between too hot but still hot enough to swim.

I've been heavily researching this exact topic for the past few days. I'm a forward planner so it would be for mid/late June 2025 for us. Heat doesn't seem to bother my toddler, we went to Bologna during a heatwave when he was 18 months and it was all good, but as a PP said I'd avoid Greece in July and August just in case of weather over 35C.

As to Corfu itself the areas I was looking at were Kassiopi and Corfu Town itself. I discounted Sidari as I've read it's particularly touristy and Paleokastritsa as it seemed quite hilly and small and we like a proper town for the evenings. I could be wrong about the size though, this is only from watching videos on YouTube.

If you're not renting a car (we don't) bus routes between the northern towns seem quite good (especially Paleokastritsa and Corfu town) so you could easily stay in one as a base and day trip to another.

I'm going to Corfu in September with a 2y 9m old by that point.

Staying at IKOS Odisia but IKOS Dassia is around the corner.

Luxury and also a creche if you want some time to yourselves.

Messonghi beach area was highly recommended to us for under 5 age - haven’t ever tried it and our DC are now older but sounds lovely and likely to be similar age children around.

Think about whether you want sandy or pebbly beaches. Pebbly they have to wear shoes and can’t build sandcastles or dig, but they don’t get covered in sand. If you want sandy that narrows it down a fair bit - I think the north east beaches are pebbly and so are a lot of the western beaches (Paleokastritas area). Messonghi is a mix I think.
