Lake Garda

Looking for recommendations of places to stay in Lake Garda next summer. Going with DH and DC aged 10 and 12.
We have booked a week in Bardolino on the southern edge of the lake, and are looking for somewhere else to stay for a second week which will have a different feel to Bardolino.
I had my heart set on Riva, but have struggled to find accommodation I like... we want separate sleeping areas for adults and kids, a nice pool and walking distance to town/lake. Does anyone have any other town recommendations which might fit the bill? We've done Venice/Verona quite recently so would prefer to stay near the lake.
Thanks in advance!

We stayed in Du Lac et Du Parc in Riva last year and it is a great hotel which meets your criteria although the kids sleep in the sitting room.

There are family suites with a separate children’s sleeping area at the Gioiosa. It’s one of the most family-friendly hotels we’ve stayed at in Italy. When we were planning our trip, we were debating whether to stay at AktivHotel SantaLucia in Torbole, which is just outside Riva. It has rooms with separate sleeping areas and is very well set up for accommodating children, but in the end we decided to stay in Riva itself.

We loved the Savoy Palace. Fantastic atmosphere and food and walk alongside the lake into Riva. Do the hike up the mountainside to the little chapel. Look back to that holiday as the best ever.

We stayed at Sirmione which was lovely - old town, shops and by the lake. Loved Bardolino, we got the ferry there for the day - never seen so many dogs in prams!

Torbole is different and has access to watersports. Just a short walk or boat onto Riva. Malcesine is on the east coast and has cable car up to Monte Baldo which is more alpine and a nice harbour area.

Plenty to do around Malcesine.

Yes definitely look for options towards the north of the lake - completely different scenery to the south . Malcesne is a good option if you can't find accommodation in Riva . Torbole is walkable along the top of the lake to/from Riva. If you don't mind staying inland a bit, we stayed at Arco once , just north of Riva. Felt like we were surrounded by mountains. You can get a bus down to Riva .
