So we’ve been lucky enough to be gifted a trip to Disney Paris later this year. It’s a just add spends trip so unsure on how to budget as I can’t look online to see prices 😂

how much is eating in the park? Probably looking more at the take away type foods than sitting down but would be handy to know both so I can take extra just in case

how expensive are things like snacks/ice creams?

we’re staying off park so breakfast and tea will be eaten where we’re staying and we will be taking some snacks in with us

any tips for going too would be great as this is a trip we wouldn’t be able to afford on our own so we want to make the most of it!

You can see all the prices on line- just look at the menus for each restaurant. The take away food isn't cheap but not ridiculous prices.
Not sure how old your children are or when you are going but the park is open very late, particularly in the summer so you may not want to leave for supper as you may miss the fireworks etc or the shorter queues! Or you could go back to your accommodation and then come back to the parks.

If you are on FB, look up group Disneyland Paris for Brits, lots of tips etc on there

The main takeaway restaurants in the main park are places like Cowboy Cookout , Casey’s Corner , Chalet au Marionette , Hyperion cafe etc if you Google them and look at the menu it gives the up to date prices . I would say you need to budget roughly €15-20 per person . Popcorn is roughly €6 / 8 in the park . There is a Macdonalds in the Village ( just outside the park ) which may be slightly cheaper . The sit down restaurants are obviously more expensive , again you can get an idea on the website . The park is busy so if someone in your party qualifies for an access pass it’s definitely worth doing - again the criteria is all on the Disneyland Paris website .

You can look online to see prices. It's expensive.

McDonald's is the busiest food place there for a reason.

You can take food in.

We did the character breakfast which was expensive but good, the princess lunch which my kids loved but the food and service was terrible and we went to chez Remy which was so bad we walked out.

Basically my advice would be go and load up at the breakfast, bring snacks, and eat at your hotel.

Floralnomad · 13/01/2024 16:29

@idontlikealdi Chez Remy is my favourite restaurant at DLP .

Trip to Primark before you go for some mouse ears and trashy Disney t-shirts. Take snacks and water bottles- easy to refill. Book restaurants in the park before you go for a rest in the middle of the day so you can control your budget. Avoid the character meals. Avoid buying souvenirs. If you do buy snacks they're nearly all giant so share.

Mamatolittlemonsters · 13/01/2024 19:33

Oh thank you.

DC are 5 and 2 so not sure how late we will be out

I hadn’t realised the prices were online 😂 So that’s appreciated so I can work out a bit of a budget rather than a blanket figure.

and good thing to know about the giant snacks 😂

@Mamatolittlemonsters even if the kids are tired it’s worth staying at least one evening for the firework / finale show on the castle .

Gymmum82 · 13/01/2024 20:02

Eat breakfast at hotel. Take lunch with you and buy dinner. Looking at £50-£60 per dinner for a family of 4. You won’t be trekking back to your hotel for dinner. Kids as young as babies stay to watch the fireworks. You won’t want to miss them. They are an absolute highlight.
You’ll have an amazing time. It’s hella expensive but utterly amazing

Mamatolittlemonsters · 13/01/2024 20:10

Ah yes! We’re all in one car so it’ll depend on what everyone is doing which doesn’t help with the budget making but I’m sure with some sugar they’ll want to stay late 🤣

I’m honestly preparing for the expense 😂

id read about the food being expensive so just trying to work out what else we’d need ontop of it too 😂 It’s not a holiday we would be able to afford for the kids so want to make the most out of it and get the most out of our money

If your kids like dressing up then buy an outfit for their favourite character before you go. The outfits are hanging up outside many of the shops and look so tempting but even 10 years ago were about 50-60 quid. My kids loved being able to wear princess/Toy Story outfits all day at DLP (even if sometimes they had to wear coats over the top and leggings underneath as it was so cold).

was going to say this, imm going in June and that group is incredibly helpful

I’ve already learnt though that you need to book the posher MONTHS in advance, reservations open for many a year in advance. However there are some restaurants which are walk in only, some you can only reserve on the day and many fast food type places

btw if it’s all looking to expensive go to Efteling (Netherlands) instead. We went last summer (not really theme park people, or so we thought) and love it. Even my very grumpy dh.

Mamatolittlemonsters · 14/01/2024 14:50

ah thank you! Luckily we have been gifted the hotel and tickets so it’s more just spends while we are there and not really a choice on where we go!
