Where can we go on holiday? Not too hot, interesting but has a beach?

I've run out of ideas. We love holidaying in the UK but want to go abroad again for a change. Daughter isn't keen (17) says she doesn't want to sit by a pool/beach for a week. This is exactly what I want. She doesn't like it hot either. Was thinking maybe a northern country?

Thank you everyone! I have been having a look through all your suggestions and making notes. I should have said it's for an August holiday. I have just been looking at Lake Garda. Has anyone been and can recommend a hotel? Will got and look at Germany now. I appreciate all your replies x

We went to Barcelona in April and it was just warm enough to not need a cardigan or Hoody most days.

Slovenia. It's warm and sunny but you're in mountainous areas so there's a freshness to it. Plus it's absolutely stunning and a lot cheaper and less busy than Italy

Dubrovnik- the coast is stunning, beautiful beaches and islands for you and a beautiful historic city for your dd to explore. Very cool for teens as it was the main Game of Thrones filming location and there are tours and many shops devoted to the show.
Probably best May half term over summer though as can be very hot.

Hamburg! Buzzy atmosphere, city beach and the incredible
Miniature World.

I second Lanzarote, the breeze keeps the temperature down,Lake Garda will be BOILING in August. Lanzarote has a volcano and caves, the capital city is interesting and we loved the Aloe Vera plantation, Caesar manriques house which is a home built inside a volcano air bubble… so much more than just sitting by a beach.
