Eurocamp in Brittany

Hello all

any recommendations for a site in Brittany for a summer break with 4 kids age 6-16? We've never done a eurocamp but last year's camping trip was a bit of a trial with the weather and we think the kids deserve something nice with outdoor swimming and the like. I guess we don't want to spend nearly £1k on a naff site with not much to do! Has anyone got any sites they can personally recommend? The kids all love outdoor activities and sports (especially the teen).

thank you!

ETA we could go for a regular campsite too, if anyone has any recommendations? Just want the sea and swimming pools really. We have all the camping gear. Just thought eurocamp might be a treat but if it's not worth it please say!

Brittany weather is not reliably hot and sunny, so it’s down to luck a bit, similar to if you went to Cornwall, but the Eurocamp site we stayed at there did have an indoor pool!

Also, I shouldn’t have said Eurocamp site as they don’t run campsites themselves, just lease pitches on them for camping and mobile homes https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/team-blog/2019/07/15-european-holiday-park-tricks/?_ga=2.10710519.2127156193.1704636062-46184202.1704636062

I agree that you should try and head further south if you want a good chance of nice weather. The Vendee is a lovely area with. Ice beaches and lots of decent campsites. As well as Eurocamp you can try Yelloh Village, Hutoppia and Castels sites. Most of then have cabin and camping options plus nice pools and activities.

And unless your adamant you want to be near the sea I really recommend the Loire valley. Beautiful countryside, plenty of water activities on lakes and rivers.

We stayed at Des Menhirs campsite in Brittany 4 or 5 times. It's 10 mins walk to a big sandy beach and less than that to Carnac which has bars, restaurants and a Super U supermarket.
The campsite has a pool and waterside, plus kids clubs if you want them.

Thank you! I did look at les menhirs. This is really helpful!

You will definitely need to head further south if you want reliable sunshine. We had a week in Normandy last year and it rained the entire week - it was bloody miserable! Would you consider Vendée?

If it must be Brittany, Domaine des Ormes has a big indoor pool and lots of activities on site. You could also check out Sandaya, Yelloh, Capfun sites, as well as the campsites' own websites - the accommodation is often better and cheaper when booking directly, but Eurocamp do provide a discount on the ferry and the protection of a package holiday. You can't take your own tent with Eurocamp anymore, but a lot of sites Eurocamp operate on do allow your own tent if booking directly.

We stayed at des menhirs last August. The site is lovely, quite small but lots going on. Evening entertainment, bar is good, kids club, good pool and slides. The beach is nice and it's close as is the supermarket.

We took our kids to Parc de loisirs Le P'tit Délire, about a 20 min drive away. We had the best day! Loads of slides, bouncy castles, go karts, climbing frames, splash park! You can take your own food and drink in too. Really recommended it with kids

I agree with twilight that south brittany is lovely and has slightly better weather than the north. there used to be reviews on ukcampsites.com see if you can get a site that has large pitch sizes as this made a big difference to our holidays. We much preferred brittany to north vendee - the former has lovely old towns whereas the latter seemed to have lots of bungalows (this may have changed since as it was quite a few years ago)
