Disney Land Evening Food / Tips

Hello,

Just booked our first holiday to Disneyland Paris and wanting to know all of the tips!

What do I absolutely need to take? Is it worth booking into one of the restaurants? We already have a breakfast with characters booked for one of the mornings, more than happy to get Mickey waffles etc on the go throughout the day for brunch etc but evening meals, should I book restaurants asap or will it be okay just to walk in? I assume I will be best to book but where to book is the question 🫣

We're staying in one of the Disney hotels and reluctant to stay in there just for meals as we'd like to experience the park as much as possible.
It's myself, DP and DS who's 5 that will be going. End of May 😁

Join the Disneyland Paris for Brits FB group. They know all the tips. It's been a year since we went but we did have to book restaurants in advance. The food is £££, especially for ala carte. There were fast food places that are much cheaper including a McDonald's in the village.

If you want the ‘sit down ‘ restaurants / buffets then it’s best to book , you can always cancel . Some will have last minute availability depending on the time of year but I’d err on the side of caution .

Thank you both for your replies! 😁

I'm trying to figure out which restaurant might be best.

We find when we go that it works out best to have the hotel breakfast then have a sit down meal at 2/3 pm and then grab a quick meal in the evening either in the park ( Casey’s / Hyperion cafe etc) or in the village on the way back to the hotel ( earl of sandwich / Mac Donald’s etc ) . I don’t like buffets because of the risk of x contamination ( gf family members ) so tend to go to places like Walt’s / Silver Spur in the main park . My favourite restaurant is Chez Remy in the Studios . Do be aware that some of the fast food places in the parks like Cowboy cookout close quite early ( 7 ish ) .

I've been three times in the past 18 months and ended up getting meal plans the second and third times.
The best places to eat were in Newport Bay - the buffet- and the manhattan restaurant in hotel new york.
We also loved the ratatouille restaurant and l'auberge de cendrillon.

Pretty much none of them tend to have space for walk-ins.
You will be able to book in the app now if you add your hotel booking.
And if they're booked already, the concierge in your hotel might be able to help when you arrive.

We paid for the meal plan, we had breakfast in the hotel (smuggled a few pain au chocolates out for snacks during the day) and then booked a park restaurant for an early evening meal each day. We did the buffet restaurants as easier for 2 fussy DC. Our fave was PYM kitchen in studios. "Experimental" food like giant burgers and blue ice cream.

Download the app and book on there.

We stayed at Newport Bay with breakfast included. We ate there one evening in the Cape Cod restaurant and it was awesome. My 6yr still raves about it and this was months ago. We booked that before we arrived on the app.

We also ate an early dinner in one of the restaurants near to where the Lion King show was on. We just walked in mid afternoon and there were plenty of tables available. This was August 2023 in peak school holidays.
