Please tell me your recommendations for great resorts for young kids in Spain & the Balaerics

(This is for a 6 yr old)

The wish list!

Spain,Portugal, Balaerics
Splash park
Kids club
Good facilities for kids
Ideally a beach not far
Wider resort is good for families
Lots of English speaking families (only child so it would be lovely to make friends)

Last year I got it in my head that Menorca was the place, a kind Mumsnetter recommended Talayot complex in Cala N Forcat/Cala Blanes and it was fantastic.
(Splash pools, kids club, mini karting, playparks etc inside the venue, and the wider resort had a little aquapark and numerous bar/restaurants with trampolines, bouncy castles etc).

A poster mentioned Alcudia in Majorca in a other threads as being good for kids , but having been to Majorca 3 times, would ideally like to go elsewhere (though wouldn't rule it out completely).

Thank you for any advice 🙏

Royal Son Bou is probably the best we’ve been to with small dc

I came to mention Alicudia.
Specifically the Zafiro Tropic.

Alcudia in Majorca is full of mozzies. It is a great resort though! The beach is incredible.

That has cropped up ... Thank you for the recommendation.

Went to that beach as part of a Tui day trip and it was extremely busy (near the main entrance anyway); does the hotel have it's own area on it or ..?

I'll look into it on TripAdvisor

Yes, I read about that when looking into Alcudia previously - I think some complexes (the one beside the water park in particular) ilhas a lot of lakes/bodies of water around it.

Thanks for this recommendation. I'll have a look at it.

Having been to Majorca 3 times, I'd love to go somewhere different again; I know it's probably silly/doesn't really matter.

Any IKOS resort

Any IKOS resort

Thanks for this; they look very elegant and I can see they have a slightly different/chilled take on entertaining kids.

With wanting a short flight, the Greek ones are probably out but I'll look at the Spanish/Ibaeric ones.

The maIn issue is that operators in NI (there are only 4 really) possibly don't offer Ikos ...which means constructing your holiday yourself.
Probably too lazy for that 😊

The TUI family resorts are good, there's one in Ibiza with an attached water park

I think I can filter by attached water park, I'll try to track it down.

I was going to say the Binimar apartments but if you went to Cala n’Forcat last year you probably want to go somewhere else.

I know you’re not keen to go back to Mallorca, however the Cala D’Or Playa apartments are fantastic for children

There is an Ikos in Mallorca, but it's very expensive (€800 and up per night for a double room in high season, albeit all-inclusive). Also, it's in Portopetro, which is a lovely unspoiled fishing village, but that means no there are no other hotels and only a handful of restaurants (one of the dining options at the Ikos is that they give you a voucher for dinner in the town), so there isn't much else to do in the town. Plus there is only a very small beach. That least bit is actually a problem for most of the five-star luxury hotels in Mallorca: High-end tourism is a recent arrival, and all the good beachfront space has already gone to midrange places.

It can get busy, especially at weekends. I don't believe that the hotel has its own beach area, but it's a very long beach, and you can easily walk along to find a quieter spot. Don't walk too far along though - the far end is a nudist beach.
