Eating Out in Paris?

We are off to Paris during the Easter Holidays with a five year old and a 15 month old. Has anyone got any tips on where to eat? Our primary concern is ... do we need to take a portable high chair? Cheers!

Most Paris restaurants have high chairs, from what I remember, although they often don't have straps. There was a nice chain of mussel and fries restaurants that was good, but it wasn't very central - which arrondissement are you in?

Hi NotQuiteCockney! We are staying in between Les Halles and the Latin Quarter.

If you're going to the Latin Quarter in particular (but it's fairly true of most of the centre) be very careful with the price of drinks.

Many restaurants display cheap food prices outside their cafes and restaurants, and then charge extortionate prices for drinks once you've sat down.

Find out the price of the drinks before you commit to an order for food.

If you are going on the Eurostar the Brasserie du Nord by the Gare du Nord is fantastic. We had a great dinner there with the dc last summer (they were 8 and 5 then) and the service was fantastic as was the food. But it does get quite busy with other Brits going on eurostar too.

I just got back from a Yummy Mummy dinner out with my daughter (3.4) at Noura Traiteur on avenue Marceau (8th arrondissement). It's as baby and toddler friendly as Paris gets (lots of high chairs, child friendly finger food, child welcoming waiters).

Another good place would be Taverna degli Amici on rue du Bac (between bd Saint Germain and the Seine) - large wooden tables, pasta.
