A question about Legoland................

DD is 3yo and at Legoland you pay a child price for ages 3 and over. DD is small and could quite easily pass for under 3 but what I want to know is will it stop her from going on many rides? Should I stop being a cheapskate and just pay for her ticket?

You don't have to show your entrance ticket at the rides - they go on height. However, you are risking your dd saying very indignantly and loudly 'I'm not two, I'm THREE'.

stop being a cheapskate

WanderingTrolley · 16/03/2008 15:54

It's blardy expensive for a three year old though, £26 on the gate, £23 online.

There are lots of kids-go-free vouchers aroung though - there were lots on cartons of milk a year or two ago, and plenty on Tesco Clubcard points and the like.

Leslaki · 16/03/2008 15:55

get in free if you can!!!

wheresthehamster · 16/03/2008 15:58

Legoland is a complete con. Adults have to pay but there's hardly anything you actually want to go on yourself so they get plenty of money for nothing. Start training your DD to say innocently "When will I be three mummy?"

schneebly · 16/03/2008 15:58

if she can pass for two and wont give the game away then dont pay!

foxinsocks · 16/03/2008 15:59

oh yes, everytime I see the word Legoland, I shudder involuntarily. It is the place of nightmares .

pootleflump · 16/03/2008 16:00

I hadn't considered that one edam!

I'm using my clubcard vouchers but you have to pay the same whether it's an adult or child and although £8.50 is still a bargain I feel a bit cheated that I'm not getting my 4x value on the kids tickets iyswim.

So they don't wear wrist bands or anything to show they've paid?

I think one of the teabag brands is doing a child goes free voucher at the moment...

LynetteScavo · 16/03/2008 16:01

The rides all depend on height. DS2 is short, so last summer could hardly go on any rides he wanted to because he was 2 cm too short.

It depends on how you feel about being honest / dishonest as to whether you pay up or not, or how rich / poor you feel.

msappropriate · 16/03/2008 16:03

I think they have to be 90cm for some of the little kids stuff

pootleflump, there is one ride (L-Drivers) where they do have to be three and the staff ask each child how old they are before they are allowed on - in the case of a child who cannot answer or doesn't look 3, they do ask to see the entry pass.

Also consider, do you really want to train your daughter to be dishonest?

pootleflump · 17/03/2008 09:59

ladygrinning, tbh whenever I ask dd how old she is her reply is 'I can't remember- you tell me again'! I don't know whether she does this to wind me up or if she honestly doesn't know .
