Annecy Recommendations?

We’ve pretty much landed on Lake Annecy for our 2024 hols this year but don’t know where to begin with accommodation. The last couple of years we’ve done mobile homes and happy to do the same again this year if anyone has stayed in a decent park?

Other option is a house rental but bit worried the kids would get bored.

They’ll be 9 and 12, not the most adventurous kids but they’ll enjoy the lake and some good hikes/cycles. Wish list is somewhere within a short walk of the lake and also a little village/shops would be great. Dont mind spending a bit to get a decent one.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to give us some pointers!

We went to Camping L'Ideal this summer, was nice.

We absolutely loved Le Solitaire du Lac. No swimming pool or kids club, but it more than made up for it with the private beach at the bottom of the campsite. The lake was warm enough to swim in, and there were SUPs to hire if we wanted to. The campsite is next to the bike path that goes all around the lake and there are bikes available to hire. It’s also within walking distance of a little village/town with shops and restaurants.

Thanks both! Le Solitaire does look lovely, but I would miss a pool I think. L’ideal looks great, that’s definitely on the short list.

The other one we’re looking at is Le Lac Bleu, has anyone any experience of it?

Any tips of nice things to do/see while we’re there, and is it worth getting a car?

We were going to do La Ravoire but covid got in the way. I think all the sites are pretty good - for me the deciding factor would be how far to walk \ cycle to a supermarket so I didn’t have to go in the car every time

yes, this is what im trying to find out if we can get to a supermarket without needing a car😃😃

I've just booked to go back to Le Solitaire du Lac in August. We went 2 years ago for a few nights and it wasn't long enough so have booked for 7 nights. Can't wait.

We really loved the site. It was busy, as you would expect in August on lake Annecy, but not too noisy and the facilities were basic but fine. We loved it for the access to the cycle path, you have to cross the cycle path to get to the main road so it's easier to cycle to the supermarket which was approx 10/15 mins from our tent by bike.

DH loves cycling up mountains so it's perfect for him. Me and DD loved swimming in the lake. The site has it's own access a couple of mins walk through a field. No beach as such but easy to get in the lake, there is a public beach a short walk away. I really like that it's probably as far from the main road as you can get but with lake access on site. We also like to hire a fridge, great for keeping the delicious french wine chilled!

Just got to plan the journey to and from Roscoff now!

The cycle path runs alongside route de la ravoire which looks to be a short ride from L'Ideal towards the lake to get onto it. Then there should be a supermarket along it somewhere!
