Club La Santa or other active resorts/holidays…

I’ve been looking at Club La Santa in May half term for 5 days. Have a 13 year old who likes sports and thought this would keep him off the screen and active while away!

has anyone been to Club La Santa or have any other recommendations for similar active holiday set ups (that don’t break the bank) in Europe?

thanks

Try neilson or magic life

Club la Santa is brilliant. I prefer there over Neilsons as they offer so much more in variety and quantity of classes and activities. But it depends what sports you are into and likely to do.

Look at the schedule (can see two weeks in advance) as it will give you a feel of what’s available.

Only thing is Id check about any activities that have an age restriction or requires an adult to accompany etc

Id say Neilson do water sports and cycling better than CLS so worth a look if those are the preferred sports

We’ve stayed at Jesolo International Club Camping, which in fact is very much like a hotel as it has an all inclusive option. I’d definitely recommend it - top facilities, helpful staff and superb location.

It's many years since I was at CLS. It was always really good for sports. Not sure on age restrictions as I was there with only adults, not teens.
Very basic accommodation unless that has changed in the last 20 years.

Restaurants around the site were always really good, and you can always do a lovely walk to the next village to eat there too

Depends what you are looking for. We went to magic life (Tui, 6 scattered around Europe) and they had full day programmes for everyone, it was term time so school aged kids were very thin on the ground but they still had it running officially. Multiple restaurants on site and ai.

Club La Santa is fab! Just to note that a 13 year old may not be able to participate in lots of the activities unless they are categorised as “family activities” or are part of the organised teens/kids activities.

They built a lot of new apartments which are much nicer & have air con. I think they've also renovated the old ones.
Great family holiday, with the option so do some self catering if you want to.
Haven't been for some years but the kids loved it.

Hi - yes, this is a bit of a concern. 13 seems to fall in between the kids activities (upper limit, so therefore he’d be with lots of little kids) but not ready for the teen stuff which seems to be 14+.

In your experience, will this be restrictive? What will he be able to do?

It’s a few years since I’ve been, but my son did plenty when he was 13. He used to do a lot of the athletics stuff. As long as you go during school holidays he should find some friends
