Going from 27-30th, staying in Nice and planning a day trip to Monaco. Anything in particular we should do? We’re mainly planning on walking around the city

When we stayed in Nice we caught the bus to Monaco and stopped at Eze on the way for a little meander. We didn't do much in Moncaco (apart from window shopping and had an expensive drink!) but obviously there's the casino to go in if you wish. We then caught the train back with a stop at Villefranche sur Mer for dinner. It was a lovely day out.

Train to Antibes and visit the Picasso museum and walking around the old part of Nice - lots of restaurants and bars and shops to visit and they've got a Christmas market/fair on in the gardens I think too.

Jaques Cousteau aquarium in Monaco
Changing of the guard in Monaco
Mattisse museum in Nice
Train to Ventigmilla in Italy - it has a lovely market, although not sure about Christmas/new year opening times
The Prince's car collection in MC is pretty impressive if that kind of thing floats your boat.

Nice is lovely. Take the lift up to the castle on the hill for the best views.

The old town is lovely for a wander. We did a food tour which was a great way to meet people and see the area. There's a big hill near the beach that's lovely to walk up.

Thanks all - really looking forward to it

Always a train trip over the border to Ventimiglia in Italy. The weekly market is on Fridays, and is supposed to be the largest in Italy. Great for clothes and all kinds of stuff! Cheap bottles of grappa in Eurodrink. It's so close, only about 45 mins on the train. We used to love going to San Remo too but that's further.
