Anybody flown with Canadian Affair?

We're going to Toronto in October and we're flying with Canadian Affair.

Has anyone flown with them?

I've discovered ,now that I've booked and paid for the holiday, that you have to pay for all drinks including soft drinks on the flights.

Does anyone know how much the drinks wil be and if they will give us water for free?

Canadian Affair have three airline partners: Air Transat, Thomas Cook Airlines (incorporating MyTravel Airways) and WestJet.

My guess is that you'll be most likely to use Thomas Cook airlines. Think they charge £1.50 for each drink.

Should have said it's a Thomas Cook flight that we'll be on.

Will they charge us for water?
I don't mind paying for water so long as I get a bottle of water and not just a little plastic cup of it.

Just checked with DH and his recollection is that you don't have to pay for water, and he thinks we were given one drink free.
We flew to Toronto, I can't remember exactly which aeroplane we were on but the legroom was very good and we were able to make dd a lovely little bed on the floor in front with everybody's fleeces.
What are you doing when you get there - we wandered around Ontario.

That sounds ok then Mouselady. I've never been on a flight where you have to pay for drinks before, so I had to ask.

We're going for a fortnight, staying in Toronto, then going to Niagara Falls for a few days then back to Toronto for a couple of days before we fly home.

dd1 is making lists of all the things we have to do while we're there, lol. Dd2 just wants to know if we'll be having lunch while we're in Canada, she seems to think we're only going for the day, lol

That sounds pretty much what we did. We took advantage of the very cheap Toronto flights, added on an RV, with a night in a hotel either end.
We went in May and I have such great memories of Algonquin. It was just amazing wading in this crystal clear but freezing cold lake with ds and dd, fish all around our feet.
The kids loved Toronto Zoo and we had a lot of fun in Niagara.
Ds was 9, dd was 16 months.
Would love to travel from one side t'other with them one day.

I'm not brave enough to drive over there. Last time we went to Canada it was just dh, dd1 and me, we went in May and visited Banff and Calgary it was a fantastic holiday. We got married while we were there as well. Decided to see Toronto this time, we think dd2 wil probably handle the shorter flight better than the longer one all the way over the other side.

We flew Canadian Affair to Halifax, in 2004.

The only problem is that they have very few planes (or they did then). When it came to our return flight, the plane flying out to us developed problems so we had a 6 hour delay.

Then they replaced our plane with one that was used normally for short-haul flights, so we had (for an overnight flight) much less legroom, and a longer journey because we had to stop in Greenland to refuel.

Well the driving does have its moments!
Luckily, I have a dh who just gets in and starts driving, relying on me to tell him what lane to go in etc. Fond memories of our first long haul flight with the kids (to Orlando) walking out of the airport and picking up this huge Truck-size thing and hitting Interstate 4 in it.
Me, when MIL and I go thru the tunnel for a bit of shopping at Cite Europe I draw a huge arrow on the back of my hand with a permanent marker to remind me to keep to the right!
