Butlins with a baby

I'm just looking for some advice/insight please!

We'll be going to BR very soon with our 7 month old to holiday with DH family. I see it as an opportunity to socialise with them and maybe sneak off for a massage

His nieces and nephews are older so I'm sure they'll be very busy but is there much for babies?

I've heard that you can rent a cot but SIL has said that we can't? Feeling very confused.

Any tips would be very welcome, especially if you've been recently as I've not been to Butlins since I was a child myself.

We went to the Skegness one: £10 to rent a cot for a week.

Tbh, I made the most of having the ILs there to entertain DC1 and spent a bit of time in Costa while DC2 (3months) napped. DC1 spent all day every day in the pool but there's plenty of other stuff. I did take DC2 in the baby pool but that was about the extent of it.

Everyone is keen to take the baby but truthfully I am nervous because I've only ever left him with his dad up until now!

We're off to Bognor at Christmas and my youngest will be 9 months. You can hire a cot but you still need to bring your own bedding. It should have asked when you were making the booking where the baby would sleep and whether you want to pay the £10 to hire a cot or bring your own, so maybe SIL or whoever made the booking selected to bring your own?

I wouldn't say there is a huge amount for little babies. Mine will probably spend most of the week in the pushchair watching older siblings doing the activities and shows. The pool has a nice shallow paddling area where they can sit and splash. There is a soft play for children under 1m but even that wouldn't be particularly suitable as it's very crowded with older children charging round. There's also a small play area outside (along the path between the Wave hotel and skyline), I think that had swings if they're old enough for that but I can't recall now. You might be able to take them on the indoor carousel with you? But that's pretty much it on site.

If you need a change of scene and a bit of peace and quiet you could take them off site for a walk around Hotham Park or just take them down to the beach to watch the waves. There centre of Bognor is about 20 mins away and has a Boots and Tesco if you need any baby stuff.

Agree there isn't a lot specifically for that age although that can use the pool and will probably enjoy watching the shows for the music and characters.
We love Butlins and have been going since my youngest was about 3, so 7 years now.

I've not made it to the park a previous poster mentioned but it looks nice.

@BeaniesOnToast thanks, MIL & SIL did the booking and told me at the time we could hire a cot when we got there. I've bought one from Facebook marketplace this morning to avoid the hassle and to have a baby jail at home for £14 so I am happy with that.

Cab in just check you mean you need to bring bedding for the cot and not the adult beds as well? While we're on the subject what about towels? 😅

Thanks for the tip about the park, I will have a look!

Just cot bedding! Which accommodation are you staying in? There's a handy comparison chart PDF that shows you everything that is included in each room type if you Google "Butlins Bognor compare accommodation". Looks like towels are included for all but silver level.
