Seville in September

DH and I are hoping to travel to Seville, mid September 2024.

We want to explore the whole Andalucia area, interspersed with a few days chilling round the hotel pool.

So a few questions:
I assume it will still be pretty hot mid September
Can anyone recommend a decent hotel with a pool
I assume public transport in the region is pretty good

Thank you!

We went at the end of September and early October and it was absolutely scorching - we were desperately seeking air con each day at about 3pm!
Loads of train links with other cities and towns, but when we went the trains were rather unreliable. Not sure if there was a strike or something when we went, but they kept getting cancelled.
We stayed at Catalonia Santa Justa (quite close to the main station) and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Personally to explore Andalusia I would hire a car. We drove and had no problems, though parking in Seville was interesting. Highly recommend Jerez and Sanlucar for visits to the Sherry houses - even if you think it's not your drink they are interesting.

It could well be monstrously hot, even high 30s/40+.

The high speed trains are pretty good, and cheap if you're used to UK train prices, as are local trains and coaches are pretty good too. You could get a train to Cordoba for a day, you could also do a day trip to Cadiz, if you're driving visit Jerez on the way, but you'd probably want a day in each. There's loads to see in the city itself, so that's at least a week filled in just a small corner of the Andalusia province.

We went in early October and it was 40 degrees! The stayed for a few days then got the train to Cadiz. Trains are very efficient and 1st class is cheap (and includes a lounge at the station with free food and drink which is a bonus) but worth noting that they will only let you buy a ticket if there is a seat free. We didn’t realise so didn’t book in advance and tried on the day we wanted to travel but had to wait until after lunch for a train with space.
