Looking for recommendations for City breaks. Two adults and three teens, 12, 14 and 15. Can stay for up to four days with a minimum of two.

We are open to anywhere and will be travelling from January to June next year.

How about Krakow? I'm looking at taking DH there for his 60th next year and it looks very good value. The old town looks lovely and of course there are day trips to Auschwitz and the salt mines to go on as well.

You can’t beat Rome.

Cologne is great and there's a really good theme park called phantasialand. We went for a week at Easter but its great for short breaks.

Amsterdam would be amazing with teens. Love it. Pancakes for breakfast, foodhallen for lunch. Riijstaffel for a dinner! Chill out on a boat, go round the rijksmuseum or van gough try and get ann frank house tickets. Eat chips with cheese and mayo on!

If you like Germany and Austria but only want a max of 4 days then I would go to Cologne.

Loads to do, not as long a flight as Munich/Berlin/Vienna and you can always do a day trip to Aachen.

Berlin! So much to see and do, loads of excellent museums to visit. It’s a small city so easily walkable, although the underground is cheap and reliable.

I’d second Berlin. I took my DD when she was 15. I say I took her, but she did all the organising! We stayed for 4 days just after Easter. It was nippy but not freezing, lots to see and do, very quirky!

I think the German History museum
is closed for renovation at the moment. I’d probably hold back on Berlin for a bit. This museum was very good for more recent history. The modern extension is open.
